Ethan's p.o.v.

After she got back into bed it didn't take long for her to pass out. She was exhausted from the crying she'd done earlier and any other drama that had happened that day. Once she was asleep, I went out into the living room to talk to Grayson. As I made my way down the hall I could here Lola sniffling and Gray talking to her.

"Hey it's ok; Veronica will be fine she just needs some rest," Grayson said as he tried to comfort her.

Lola who was crying on the couch next to him with a box of tissues said, "I know I'm just worried because something scared her and the only time I'd seen her like that was back home after something bad happened to her." And with that she started crying more.

"Hey. Hey, it's ok," Gray said as he wrapped his arms around Lola comforting her. He saw me walk towards the kitchen to put away the things that Veronica brought home. He said nothing, simply shaking his head acknowledging my presence. I grabbed an apple and went back towards Veronica's room. I closed the door as quietly as I could and sat down in the chair by her desk. She kept tossing and turning but I didn't want to wake her so I went on my phone for a few minutes. I felt almost guilty for thinking about Rose while Veronica is only sleeping a few feet away. I started to type a message to her but I stopped when Veronica started whimpering in her sleep. I knew that she was close to waking up from a nightmare again. I turned my phone off and set it next to my apple on her desk. I got up and went over to her bed, sitting down at her feet again. She stopped tossing and turning but she kept on whimpering so I laid down and wrapped my arms around her. She immediately stopped whimpering and relaxed into my arms. I smiled and kissed her head. "Don't worry I'm here," I whispered as I slowly started to fall asleep.

The next morning

Veronica's p.o.v.

I woke up to bright sun and warm air coming through the window. I went to go get up but I couldn't move. I looked down and someone had their arms around me. When I looked over my shoulder I was surprised to see Ethan sleeping contently with his mouth wide open. I laughed as I went and reached for my phone on my nightstand. When I moved he pulled me back and got even closer. I chuckled and opened my phone. Ricky had sent me messages saying that Mr. White wanted to meet Lola and I later in the afternoon. I quickly texted him back saying that we'd be there. Slowly and quietly I took Ethan's arm off of me and sat up. Before I got up I tested the strength of my legs. I seemed stronger than last night but I still held onto the nightstand as I got up. I made my way to the bathroom and got ready slowly and quietly. The bath rejuvenated my strength and energy and when I walked back into the bedroom Ethan was snoring and hugging a pillow. I laughed at the sight. I closed the window before I left the room and closed the door. Cameron must've left because Lola and Gray were the only ones there. They we're both asleep on the couch in a similar position to what Ethan and I were in. Grayson rolled over and I saw my chance to wake up Lola. Careful to not disturb Grayson, I shook her arm.

"Lola, wake up. We've got to get ready and meet Ricky downstairs." She abruptly woke up and said, "Huh??"

"Shhh, don't wake Grayson up. They can't know yet. We have to go though." She got up and we went to her bedroom. While she got ready, I called Ricky and asked if he could come get us. He said he'd be there in 30 minutes and ended the call. I scribbled a note for the twins letting them know we had to go out early as Lola was finishing up getting ready. When she was done I started talking to her about something that had been bugging me for a while.

"Hey Lola, can I talk to you about something?" I asked her as she stood at the counter putting mascara on.

"Yeah sure what's up."

"Ok so you know how 'Rose' has a disguise or mask?"

She looked out the corner of her eye at me and sat the mascara down on the counter, "Yeah, where are you going with this?"

"Well this is just a suggestion but I think you should have some sort of disguise or mask too," she looked at me like I had three heads. I threw my hands up in mock defeat, "I'm only suggesting this because we want to keep my identify  a secret for safety so we should do it to keep you safe too." She thought about it for a moment. "That and we don't want Ethan and Grayson knowing."

She sighed. "Okay I see what you mean. I'll find something."

"Ok." We found a bandana and used that for the time being. Grayson and Ethan were still passed out on the couch and in my bed so I put the note I wrote under Ethan's phone on my desk. Lol wrote one real quick and put it with Grayson's phone on the coffee table. As we shut the door to the apartment, Ricky met us outside.

"Ready to go?" He asked.

"Yep." As soon as the elevator doors shut I started talking.

"So now that she is here I think whenever we have to leave for things with you, Ricky, for Alex we should have our masks on. If her and her group of friends find out this whole thing will be ruined," I explained to Ricky and Lola.

"I think you're right," Ricky said as he crossed his arms, his muscles stretching the white T-shirt he had on, "I also think that we should tell Alex about this. For security."

"We'll talk about it when we get to the office. For now," I slipped my mask on, "Let's just focus on getting out of the building." We were able to get out of the building and into the car without anyone (*cough* mean girl *cough*) seeing us. After what seemed like a short ride we were at the office.

10 minutes later we were walking into Mr. White's office. He was pacing the floor in front of his window. When we walked in he heaved a sigh of relief and stopped pacing.

"Thank goodness."

"I'm assuming Ricky told you what happened yesterday," I asked, briefly glancing at Ricky before Lola and I sat down.

"Of course he did. I called and called because he missed a meeting with a client but as soon as he described what happened I told him that be could stay for as long as he wanted," Mr. White sat forward and folded his hands on the desk, "Now that I know you're ok I would like you to explain why you reacted that way to seeing a girl from your past."

I took a deep breath and looked at Lola with sad eyes. "It all started back home. She was the 'new girl' in elementary school and I was a weird, quiet kid in class. We started out as friends but sooner rather than later we became enemies. Her and her friends began spreading untrue rumors about me and my family."
"Soon I had no friends. I lost my one best friend because I was trying to tell her about things she'd done to us. I thought I'd have a better time in middle school. Everything started out ok; I even had a new group of friends. Then things started happening again and rumors started spreading. Again my friends abandoned me. I became withdrawn from social things but I had Lola there with me," I stopped to look at Lola, again with sad eyes. "I stayed strong but ever since those things played out, ever since the game was finished she's always tried to start something. High school happened and things changed but I'm afraid that she'll do it again. Now that she is here in Los Angeles with her 'posse' she might try to do it again this time with a bigger audience."

Mr. White sat back stunned. I literally just told him my story (most of it).

"Well...." He sat there wringing his hands and looking off into the distance.

"Mr. White?" Lola asked.

"Call me Alex. And ok, at least we know what has happened and what could happen." He got up again and got a cup of water. "We will just have to be careful. You especially, girls. And Ricky will be your cousin here in California," Alex looked up at Ricky, "That way if they try to pry onto your business you can just tell them you're visiting a cousin with a friend for the summer." He sat back down and pulled out a file.

"Now that we have that sorted out, there is an upcoming event that you two are invited too."
