Part 8: Be Humble

Back to Veronica's pov.

One week later.

I posted the video where I reached out to my fans. Ever since then I'd been getting more comments than ever.

"I was bullied all the way through high school."
"I was the victim of cyber bullying."
"I almost committed suicide because of the mean girl at my school and her digs at me all the time."

I sat there and starred at the computer screen every time I checked for updates on my channel. People are actually opening up. They're actually commenting. I actually connecting with people.

As I was reading through comments I got a call from Lola.

"Hello?"

"Hey Veronica. Whatcha up to?"

"Not much just reading through comments on YouTube. What about you?"

"Sitting at home, bored. Speaking of YouTube; have you picked what show you're meet and greet."

"No I haven't decided what show We're going to yet," I said as I emphasized the 'we're' part.

"Yeah I know you're taking me but I'm just wondering what show we're going to."

"I haven't decided yet," I told her as I continued scrolling and stopping to look at a comment from another fan. This time it was a guy.

"Hey listen to this comment. "This video is amazing. Just like the one fan you described, I'm going through tough times as well. I bottle up feelings just like you said you did. It makes it a lot harder to get through it but I've had times where I've snapped. Where I've just had to yell out a window or scream into a pillow. It hurts and I feel alone. But know that you've gone through the same, or similar, things makes everything a lot easier to bare. Thank you. Thank you so much." This fan is really thankful," I told Lola.

"You should reply or send them a message. It clearly means a lot to them."

"I will. And I'll let you know when I decide on a show," I told her as I clicked on the direct message button.

"Ok. Talk to you later."

"Bye," I said as I hung up and started typing.

Rose 🌹: Hey.

Grant🏈: Hey

Rose 🌹: I read your comment. I'm sorry for the things that you've gone through but I want you to know, like I said in the video, I'm here if you want to talk about it or need advice.

Grant 🏈: Thank you so much. Just thank you.

Rose 🌹: For what?

Grant 🏈: For making that video. For actually opening up. For being there for us. And for being you. You're amazing and awesome.

Rose 🌹: Oh you don't have to thank me. The truth is the one fan I referenced in the video inspired it. I went through a lot of tough stuff and I wish I had opened up to someone, told someone what was going on but I was to afraid. I didn't want to let anyone in. I needed some to be there for me. Since that didn't happen, since I didn't let anyone in I know how hard it is. And I want to be there for my fans in tough times.

Grant 🏈: Everything that you just said has made me like you more and more. You truly are my idol. I feel like I can tell you anything.

Rose 🌹: Go ahead. If I don't respond don't think I abandoned you though. I'm probably just busy.

Grant 🏈: I'm sure. Being famous and all. You're probably extremely busy.

Rose 🌹: Not as much as you think. My life is still pretty normal.

Ethan's p.o.v.

Oh my God! She responded to my comment! I took a deep breath as I responded to her last message.

Grant 🏈: What do you mean by that?

Rose 🌹: I can't really talk about it. You know, for privacy reasons.

Grant 🏈: Ok.

Rose 🌹: But I seriously wouldn't trade anything for the support that my fans give me. I like to connect with people on more of a spiritual level. I could be myself a lot more.

Grant 🏈: I know what you mean. It's the same for me. If I can't connect with them and have a deep conversation with a person it'll be awkward. But I do like to lighten the mood a lot too.

Rose 🌹: So do I. I'm really dorky with my friends but when I have to be serious, I am.

Grant 🏈: Exactly.

Rose 🌹: Yep. 😁

Grant 🏈: 😁

Rose 🌹: Well I hope you have an amazing day. I have to go.

Grant 🏈: Ok. That's fine.

Rose 🌹: And remember any time you need me. Message me and I'll reply ASAP.

Grant 🏈: Ok. Thank you.

Oh my God. I just talked to her. She is so real and down to earth.

"What are you smiling like an idiot for?" Gray asked as he walked into my room. "Tell me it isn't because of that YouTuber Rose again."

Leaning back with my arms behind my head, I smiled even bigger, "As a matter of fact it is."

Grayson sighed. "Dude I don't think you're gonna meet her. She's pretty secretive with her life right now."

"Haha I know," I said smirking, "I just talked to her."

"Get out. Seriously?"

"Yep. You can even look at the conversation," I said as Gray got up and with wide eyes read the conversation.

"Oh my God. We can do a collab with her now!" He looked up at me with a shocked/excited expression.

"You read the whole conversation right?"

"Yeah."

"Ok. Then you read the part where she said she wants to be normal. She probably a teenager who wants to finish high school or go to college before furthering her YouTube channel." I said, getting serious.

"Whoa she must be having a big effect on you," Grayson said as his eyes got even bigger.

As I got up and went to the kitchen, I asked, "What's that supposed to mean?"

"It means you've got a crush. You're falling hard."

"I am not," I said turning around and looking at him.

"Yeah, you are E," Grayson said as he walked past me, set the computer down on the counter and opened the fridge.

Shit.
I do have a huge crush.
