Ethan's p.o.v.

My shocked expression must've given me away because Mary chuckled. "Not many people realize that I'm his daughter," she stepped up to me with an extended hand, the glint in her eyes mischievous and determined. "It's nice to meet you, Ethan."

I did my best not to cringe as I touched her hand. A hand that had done many things to me. I wiped the disgusted look off of my face and I shook her hand. "It's very nice to meet you too, Ms. White." I turned away from her quickly and asked Mr. White, "What are we going to talk about during this meeting?"

Mr. White sat down and seemed to deflate. Normally he'd always be on edge but with Mary here he was more relaxed and he didn't have to have that business-like appearance on the whole time. "Well, with the tour coming up, I would like to talk to you about Mary joining your team. There are many shows and I'd like to make sure that everything is organized when you are traveling."

My heart fell. At this rate, I'm never going to have a chance at getting Veronica back. "What about Marissa? We've worked with her for so long and I'd hate for all of the work to go to waste or for her not to see it."

"She'll be able to see it," Mary interjected, "Marissa went on maternity leave because she just had her baby. She's coming to one of the shows near the end of the tour."

"Yes," Mr. White continued, "Marissa will be able to see the work that we've all work very hard on but since she went on leave so close to it starting, I had to find someone else to manage everything. My daughter Mary is the most organized person I know and unless we can find someone else, then she will have to fill in for Marissa."

Mr. White's phone rang and while he was talking on the phone Mary leaned forward and whispered in my ear, "We'll be spending a lot of time together so you need to get Veronica out of your head. You're mine now."

I got up quickly after she said this because I didn't want to be anywhere near her. Mr. White and Mary both looked up at me wondering why I suddenly jumped up so I looked at my phone and made something up. "I'm sorry Mr. White, Mary, but I have to go."

Completely unfazed by my lie he shook my hand and went back to his phone call. "Ok, we'll see you and Grayson soon."

I could feel Mary's eyes burn into the back of my head as I pushed open the glass door and exited Alex's office. As I walked to my car I decided to swing by an old friends house.

I pulled up to the beautiful ranch style house with white curtains billowing from windows on the side and stopped. This looks like someplace Veronica would fit in with. Shaking her her from my head I decided not to think about her while I'm visiting my aunt and her boss.

Veronica's p.o.v.

After I met Britney at the cafe across the street from Mr. White's building, we drove downtown. The downtown area was just as vibrant as before, with people of all ages doing a variety of things. We went to the more sophisticated side of the city, where the boutiques were filled with expensive looking clothing and pretty looking people.

I looked out the window and then at Britney with an awed expression. "I can't afford any of this, Britney."

She simply laughed at me and replied, "You can't afford any of this, Mr. White can." We got out of the car and she continued as we walked towards the gaudiest store on the street. "But we aren't going to any of these stores."

"That's funny because we're walking into one right now," I replied very sarcastically as we entered the store.

Britney just laughed and continued walking. A young woman with an upturned, arrogant expression led both of us to a back room after Britney said something quietly to her. She closed the door and Britney and I stood there.
