Maine took a deep breath and calmed her shaking self down before she went out of her room. The young girl then walked towards the stairs and quickly saw a glimpse of her father patiently waiting on the couch. She gripped the wooden railing and slowly went downstairs. A smile erupted on his Dad's face after he saw her. He stood up and wiped his hands on the sides of his jeans.

"Hello, Maine." He greeted.

"Hi po." She answered. Yaya briefly interrupted the moment to give them two glasses of orange juice and some chips. After placing them on the table, she swiftly left. The two then sat down opposite each other.

"Ano pong ginagawa niyo dito?" she asked, patiently tapping her fingers against her lap.

"Ikaw, gusto kitang makausap." He replied and a drop of cold sweat poured down the side of his face.

"Para san pa?" she asked, trying her best to stay calm. The last time they talked, anger ruled her and they weren't able to properly discuss things. Now, Maine will do everything to welcome her father back to her life again. She saw in RJ's eyes that day his Dad paid him a visit at the mansion. He wanted to make things right with his father but due to the pain and suffering he felt, RJ had to build a wall that extends from the ground up to the heavens. His Dad must break that down first before they could start fixing their relationship. Same thing with Maine and her own father, he must first make it up to her before they could start picking things up again.

"Maine, anak kita. At oo, I made a mistake nung bigla akong nawala. Ayaw ko lang na isipin mo na ako'y isang loser ... isang talunan. Kaya mas ginusto ko na lang na mawala. I'm sorry Maine, ayoko lang na magalit kayo ng Mommy mo sa akin." He told her.

"Kasi ba nawala yung pera niyo? Dad, sa tingin niyo bap era lang yung nagpapaikot sa pamilya natin? Yes, hiwalay na kayo ni Mommy kaya you're giving me monthly allowance. Nung tumigil ka, sana sinabi mo kung bakit. Kasi okay lang naman sa akin. I don't need the money, I need you ... I need my Dad. In fact, mas gugustuhin ko pa ngang tumira sa isang kubo na kumpleto yung pamilya kesa naman sa ganito kalaking bahay pero kulang kulang kami. Dad, you killed me when you left. You absolutely broke my heart." Maine answered and tears are now welling in her eyes.

Her father stood up and sat beside her. Maine turned to her side and faced him. He held her hands and placed it close to his face.

"I'm sorry anak, I'm sorry. Akala ko pera yung kukumpleto sa papel ko sa buhay mo. Patawarin mo na ako. Please?" he asked. The tears in his eyes formed a massive wrecking ball and crushed her wall down. Without saying a word, Maine pulled him in and gave her father one of the tightest hugs she will give in her entire life. The pain left her body and everything felt light. She's free now; she's free from all the pain.

RJ rushed home after he received a call from his mother. He quickly noticed the white car parked in front of their house. He let out a sigh and went inside.

"Son?" his Dad asked.

"What are you doing here? Bakit bumalik ka pa?" RJ asked. Half of him wanted to give his Dad a massive hug, the other wanted to punch him on the neck.

His Mom quickly went right in between them. She smiled at RJ and held his hands. The young guy started glaring at his Dad. A few seconds later, Mr. Faulkerson looked away.

"Anak ... Tisoy, pakinggan mo muna ang tatay mo okay? Sigurado magugustuhan mo yung sasabihin niya." RJ's mom told him.

"Ma, ano na naman yun?" he asked again and she stepped aside, making way for him and his Dad to talk.

"RJ, I'm sorry."

"Here we go again." He muttered before letting out a sigh.

"Shut up! I'm still talking. That's ruse." His father said. RJ zipped his mouth and glared at him.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything I did to you and your mother. I'm sorry for leaving you. I'm sorry that I cheated on my own family because I thought I found someone better. I'm spry that I ignored you guys for so many years. If I have to spend the rest of my life making it up to you for every single bed thing I did, I would be more than glad to do it. When I was cheated on by my girlfriend in the States, a wakeup call happened. It's Karma, obviously. The question that lingered in my heart for a long time was finally answered. I made a huge mistake ... I was never meant to be there. When I walked away from the both of you, I left a piece of my heart behind. I don't feel complete, at all. Now that I came back, it felt right. Everything felt so right. I know did a lot of mistakes and I could very well be the worst husband and father in the whole world but let me tell you this, I will do EVERYTHING so you can forgive me ... every single thing."

By the time his Dad said the last word, RJ started crying. The pain he held inside his heart for as long as he could remember suddenly vanished. He felt his Dad's sincerity; he felt his Dad's desire to finally make things alright between the three of them. And to RJ, that's more than enough reason for him to be forgiven. That's all he wanted in the first place anyway, for his Dad to come back to them ... for his father to finally make his way home.

"Does that mean you'll stay here and live with us?"

"Yes." He said and RJ smiled. His father pulled him in for a tight hug and RJ just completely broke down in his arms. His circle of hatred has now been broken. He's free, he's finally free.

Later that night, right before he was about to go to sleep, RJ called Maine to relay the good news. Her phone vibrated once and she was able to answer his call.

"Hello?" she asked in a jolly tone.

"Hi, si future Mister mo pala to."

"Talaga lang ah?" Maine asked.

"Yup."

"Pangatawanan mo yan, kung hindi iiyak ako." She answered and he giggled. RJ then spent the next few minutes telling Maine how everything got fixed between him and his Dad. He is now in an excellent mood; he's actually quite excited for all the things that can come ahead. RJ thought his night won't get better anymore but it did.

Maine then proceeded to tell him how the same thing happened to her and Mr. Mendoza. RJ's heart started beating happily. He's extremely grateful that God helped them fix things with their parents.

"Really? That's great! Akalain mo."

"Oo nga, nagging okay lang kayo ni Daddy mo nag-English." She said and chuckled a bit.

"Huy! Pero di ko talaga ma-explain kung ano yung nangyari eh. Nagbago ang lahat." He uttered with a smile on his face.

"Ako din. Pero sana, tayo ... wag magbabago ah?" Maine asked.

"Oo naman. Tayo pa rin, kahit ano pang mangyari."

--

Maine woke up the next day feeling a bit dizzy. She set up and felt like the entire world is spinning. Suddenly, she also felt her stomach churn. And then it was followed by something that made her eyes widen, the urge to vomit.

The young girl got up and ran towards the bathroom. After she reached the sink, Maine emptied her stomach and quickly washed her mouth to remove the sour vile stench. Thoughts quickly raised in her mind. From food she ate last night to that one thing that could change her life forever.

"Am I pregnant?"
