~ 26 Weeks Pregnant ~
SERRINA
Justin and I had talked all night hat night. He told me everything that had happened and then let me bitch about him and his mad he had made me. Neither of us slept that night, but after we had finished talking we laid in bed and held each other. His hand never left my stomach and he kept whispering sweet nothings to Jasper. As the sun began to rise, he went to the guest room and slept there. I knew how it would bother the kids if they came into my room in the morning and saw him laying beside me. They were still furious at him.
I was working past it, but what happened was still in my head. I was still not over everything.
Thus, a week passed with him just... being in the house. I can't say he was living because he wasn't. Everybody treated him like an outsider, including Amelia, and so much had changed in all of our lives. Justin was catching up on months of missed information. The life he had right now was nowhere close to anything he had experienced before and it seemed to break him, therefore he wasn't living. He was just here.
It was Friday morning when I walked out of my room and into the kitchen, spotting Justin and Krystal sitting at the kitchen table. They were both eating bowls of cereal and talking in short sentences. I knew not to cut in because I wasn't a part of it anymore. I was still working at forgiving Justin so I couldn't tell my daughter what to do either.
"How's school?" I heard Justin ask as I poured myself coffee.
I glanced up and saw Krystal shrug, "Fine." This was hard for her. The girls had both been big daddy's girls so when he left it broke their hearts, "How work?"
If I hadn't known better I would've thought he flinched, "I don't want to talk about work."
She let her spoon go and it sank into the bowl a little, "Why not?"
I saw the muscles in his back tense up and he was silent. I couldn't imagine this conversation going well, but then he said something that surprised me, "Because its not as important as you guys."
"It was before." She dropped their gaze and picked up her spoon again, "What changed?"
Remi King. I knew the answer to that question but he wouldn't tell her that... would he? I bit my lip and lifted my mug to my chin, waiting for his response.
"I don't know." He sighed and looked at her, "But something did. Im back. I promise."
She nodded and stood up from the table, "Promises are made to be broken."

I had just finished tucking Amelia into bed when Braxton walked down the starts and paused, "Mom, can we talk?" I nodded and we walked into my bedroom. He closed the door behind us and then sighed, "How do I tell dad?"
I frowned, "Tell dad what?" Confusion crowded my face.
He shrugged, "That Im..." He shrugged, "You know."
Suddenly the conversation made sense, "Oh," I gasped and nodded, "You think you're ready to tell him?" He didn't say anything for a few seconds and then shrugged, "If you're not ready you don't have to."
"I kept thinking I should wait for the right time." He looked down at his palm, "With you I knew it would be okay. You're my mom."
"He's your dad." It was meant to reassure him but all I saw was Brax tense up more than he already was.
"That's what I'm afraid of. He expects something from me. Im his son." I could see tears starting to form in his eyes and when he spoke next it sounded like he was crying, "I don't want him to hate me."
I crouched down and put my hands on his cheeks, "Baby," I began and brushed his hair out of his face, "I don't think you could ever do anything to make him hate you. Like you said, you're his son." I grinned and wiped a tear off his face, "He will love you until the day he dies, I can promise you that."
He quickly nodded and lifted a hand to my elbow. He rested it on my skin and looked at me, "Will you come with me?" I quickly nodded and he took a step back.
As I followed my son out of my room and through the house I felt an overwhelming sense of pride. My baby boy was growing up so quickly it made my heart ache with sadness and pride. He knew more about himself now than I knew about myself when I had him.
My boy...
We were at the bedroom door before I could process anything else and Braxton gently tapped on the bedroom door and waiting a few seconds before pushing it open, "Dad?" I waited for Justin to respond and when I heard him say, "Yeah," I followed my son into the room.
Justin was sitting in the small bed with a laptop placed on his knees. He smiled at our son, "Hey buddy," Then he saw me and the smile disappeared. He knew something was about to happen, "Serrina?" Then he saw the scared look on our sons face and he closed the computer, moving it off his lap and patting the bed beside him, "Is everything okay?"
"Yeah," Braxton said and then looked up at me. I gently nodded and he walked over, sitting just out of his dads reach, almost he same thing he had done with me. I knew I didn't need to move towards them because Justin was watching Braxton with all his attention. They just sat there beside each other for a few minutes, each of them adjusting every 30 seconds or so but then going back to their silence.
Finally, Braxton looked up at his father, took a deep, shaky breath and began to cry, "I'm gay."
Justin immediately broke into tears and pressed his face into his palms. I was frozen in my place while Braxton sat in front of his father and sobbed. He needed a response. Justin needed to say something, and quick. His body shook as he sobbed and Braxton was beginning to panic.
"Dad?" He whispered, his voice so shaky it was barely audible, "Are you mad at me?"
Still, Justin gave no response. Just as I was prepping myself to storm over and slap my husband, he lifted his head out of his hands and pulled his kid into his chest. I watched as they cried together and waited for the words.
It took a lot longer than I wanted, but finally, Justins lips parted and he spoke, "Im so proud of you, bud." Then I heard him kiss Braxton's head. They pulled away from each other and Justin shrugged, "So," He shook his head and sniffled, wiping tears off his face, "Do you have a boyfriend?"
I laughed a little and walked over to them, ruffing up Braxton's hair and leaning up against the bedpost, "No boyfriends." I told him and he gave me an awkward look over his shoulder, "No dating until you can drive."
He laughed, "Fine," Then, tow of my favourite boys sat on the bed catching up while the third kicked away in my belly, my heart beating so hard that I knew neither of us was going to get any sleep tonight.
