7 1/2 months later

"Hey (y/n)! How are you?" Matsuda asked as he walked into the room with Lawliet.

"Oh hi Matsuda, I didn't know that you went with Lawliet to go get the crib and the clothes, since I thought I was going to get the clothes." I said as I playfully glared at Lawliet.

"It was a head start. Also, even though Matsuda is an idiot, he's still of some use." Lawliet said as he placed the bag of baby clothes besides me.

I smiled up at him and he immediately returned it, he saw that I was excited and happy. I then felt his hand on my stomach, rubbing it gently.

"Hey there, buddy. I can't wait to see you." Lawliet said to the baby in my stomach.

A few months ago, we decided that the next time we went to the doctor to check on the baby, we would find out the gender. When we did, the doctor told us that we were having a boy, so that's where the nickname 'buddy' comes from. The moment was ruined by the sound of a cell phone going off.

"Oh! Sorry guys, let me take this, I'll be back in a minute." Matsuda said as he stepped out into the hallway.

"Who do you think it was from?" I asked Lawliet as he sat beside me on the sofa.

"Judging by the confused look he gave, I'll say that it was Chief Yagami." Lawliet told me.

"Ah." I said in understanding, we then saw a afraid Matsuda run back in.

"What's wro-"

"They found Light!" I was frozen in place as fear began to build up inside me.

"They have him and he won't talk unless he sees, (y/n), but that's not the worse part.." Matsuda says.

"What's more than the fact that Light Yagami wants to see my girlfriend who is pregnant with our baby?" Matsuda and I both heard the anger in Lawliet's voice.

"He knows your names.." Lawliet and I were in shock.

I placed my hands on my stomachs, thinking about if I was going to be alive to see my son, hell, even give birth to him.

"I'll go." I said as I slowly stood up.

"He's going to get mad when he's sees that you're pregnant." Lawliet told me.

"So?"

"That means the baby is in danger."

"If you want to put Light in jail without any struggle then I'm going." I said as I folded my arms.

Lawliet sighed at my persistence.

"He'll know that I'm still with you, and he'll know that I love you so much since I'm carrying your child." I told him.

"Fine... I don't like this idea, but fine, let's go."

Nostalgia hit me when we were back in our old working space. It wasn't used as much unless we decided to see the progress towards catching Light.

"(Y/N)!!!!" Light's scream brought me back to reality as I walked down the stairs, revealing myself to the man who was tied up.

"It's not safe to bring her here." Ide told Lawliet and Matsuda.

"I'm persistent." I said to Ide.

"You're insane."

"Look at Light and look at what he's done first, then come back to me and call me insane." I said with an attitude.
