Tris' POV

We hurry off in the direction that Peter and his crows disappeared in. I could still hear the menacing cries of the birds ahead, and that was a sure sign that Peter wasn't too far off.

Beside me, Tobias' feet crunched debris and leaves so loud that it was almost beginning to drown out the caw of the birds. Christina however seemed to be trying to avoid stepping through small bushes and uncontrolled growing vegetation.

"Tris," Tobias' voice then suddenly sounded through the darkening woods. "Do you think Peter actually knows what's going on here?" He asks me, his eyes trained to me and his voice now softer than what it had been towards Peter.

I liked that he trusted me. I liked that he wanted to know my opinion so that he could add onto any thoughts of his. It was a thing me and Tobias had created amongst each other.

"Well Peter actually seems to be the only one who knows what's really going on here. Maybe if he tells us about this place, we could try and find a way out?" I advise as I have to leap to get over a fallen tree trunk.

"Yeah but what if he's wrong? What if he lies to us? Peter hasn't quite changed since the last time we saw him you know.." Tobias queries, his hand suddenly then finding mine as we continued our pursuit for Peter.

His hand felt strong and it gave me a small sense of hope that flowed into my veins.

"Well, let's just hope he doesn't lie. I mean, he seems pretty frightened already anyhow, and you know how Peter is with fear for his life." I prompt next.

Finally I hear Christina call out, "Hey, I see him! Come on!"

We pick up our pace until finally the crowing of the birds grow louder again and Peter's figure is more seeable.

"H-Hey! Peter! Wait!" I finally call out, and with this, the boy jerks his head around and pauses for us to catch up to him.

"So, you all decided to come with me eh? Didn't think you'd trust me enough." He mutters in a surprised manner. The three of us followers exchange a look with each other.

"Yeah, yeah, now tell us why we just left our only source of heat, will you?" Tobias demands, his face darker than ever from the shadows of the night trees on his face.

"Okay, Okay. But also, one more thing before I begin. Please keep your voices down, alright? He might just hear you and find us." Peter breathes now, and with this, I can't help but grasp Peter's arm next before he can turn and start walking again. "Wait, who?" I beseech, my fear beginning to grasp at me.

Who was he talking about?

Peter is just about to reply when suddenly his eyes widen a bit from the sight of something up ahead.

I quickly follow his gaze but I can't seem to make anything out.

"What? What is it now?" Christina snaps loudly, her voice beginning to crack under terror.

"Shh!... There it is." Peter mutters half to himself. He continues staring at who-knows-what before he finally trudges forward.

Me, Tobias, and Christina follow his lead when suddenly he comes to an abrupt stop.

I look up to see what we have come to and have to catch my breath for a moment just at the sight.

Towering overhead of us was a really tall fenced-gate. The fence had iron spikes at the top rims and when I looked right and then left, I could see that it continued onwards in both directions, and never seemed to end.
