Tobias' POV
A scream sounded into the brisk night air.
My heart had immediately dropped, thinking that possibly either Tris or Christina were in trouble. And I honestly was hoping that it was Christina, because I couldn't even stand the thought of Eric doing something so horrible to my Tris.
I had been working on a generator when the scream had sounded. Once I had heard the scream though, I had totally lost all my concentration to my generator work and so my hands had gotten caught on one of the gears, which then caused for my gen to explode on me.
I was pretty sure I was still safe though because Eric probably was still after some other poor soul across the lands.
I now stood with my aching hands and my now dead-silent generator before me. Would the generator be able to be fixed anymore? Or was it totally destroyed now from me blowing it up?
It had caused an awful loud explosive noise, and sparks were still slightly visibly lining the gen's outline.
I quickly hurried next to see if I could get it going again, and as soon as I reached my hands back up in it, the generator surprisingly came back to life with a continuous humming noise.
I stopped working on it though when I suddenly felt small vibration going off within one of my pockets. I reached for my pocket to find that my small device was pulsating for some reason. I flipped it on and as soon as the screen lit up, there came a small 'Attention' notification on it that then showed me stances of each of my surviving friends. Christina's name was the color red for some reason.
Why would my device be warning me of something about Christina-?
And then it hit me.
It was informing me which of my survivor friends were injured.
Christina is injured. But selfishly enough I felt rather grateful to how it hadn't been Tris who had been caught.
But I also knew, if Christina was in trouble, Tris would probably be nearby to help her.
I had to go check if Christina was okay. For the sake of Tris.
I hurriedly place my device back into my pocket before I then slowly start to edge away from my generator I had worked so long on.
I felt stupid all at once though for having to use stealth and 'hide' from Eric whenever he was around. It made me feel sick to my stomach.
I could easily outwit Eric at anything... but for some odd reason it seemed as if Peter were right on Eric being different. I had caught a glimpse of him back when the 'round' had officially started. When Tris had ran off from me, I had ran in my own direction next and Eric had chosen to pursue me at first. But I had quickly hid within some tall grasses, and when he passed by my hiding position, I had clearly noticed how Eric looked more 'powerful' in a sense, and even slightly bigger in muscle.
It wasn't totally enough to convince me that Eric could beat me at anything, yet I still felt smart enough to stay away from him all the while. It seemed like Eric had some kind of cruel motivation keeping him going, and that's never good with him.
I started to pick up my pace now as I walked cautiously forward. I knew I needed to find Christina. Perhaps she had even gotten away from Eric already? If she has gotten away, Tris and I could find her and help heal her, just like Peter had told us.
We don't need a Medkit exactly for healing someone else, right? Didn't Peter tell us that medkits were only to heal ourselves?
Nothing still made perfect sense to me, but then again I don't think none of that really mattered.
