Tobias' POV

I walk alongside Peter, the lone person who seemed to always know exactly what was always going on within this crazy and hectic domain.

I notice how his posture is slack and his feet moves within a stealthy pattern. He was taking suck great cautiousness and carefulness with each step that it made me suddenly start to feel a bit irked over it.

"So, where is his generator exactly?" I now can't help but ask and I'm surprised with just how low my voice is for once. Was I gaining a little fear at the thought of being caught by Eric?

Nonsense.

"It's just up ahead. I had seen it earlier when Eric was chasing me at one point. And let me tell you, he does not like me after what I put him through." Peter replies now with a rather comical chuckle and I only roll my eyes. I never could tell whether he was being serious or not...

"What did you put him through?" I then ask as we continued treading, dark grass and shrubs covering my feet below.

Peter scoffs as he recalls the events of running from Eric now, and his eyes held a slight prideful gleam within them which wasn't too surprising for him.

"Well after I had him follow me around for a bit," He now starts. "I scored three pallets onto him as I ran, which, if you didn't know, stuns him for at least a few good seconds." He explains smoothly and I raise an eyebrow at him with this. "Actually I did that when he was chasing Christina and Tris at one point. I helped the two of them escape by collapsing a board, or um, a pallet down on top of him." He describe next and I can't help but give my own small chuckle at the remembrance of Eric's anger towards me afterwards. "Yeah, he was real pissed about it."

Peter nudges me with this and gives me an impressed look. "Ehh, so it seems like you've begun to figure out a few things within this realm, huh?"

I cast him a look at his words. "What do you mean, exactly?"

He shrugs. "Well let me just put it this way. You're beginning to get better at this."

At the tone of Peter's voice and the preciseness of his words I furrow my eyebrows at him and I can't help but want to ask him what 'getting better' meant.

And what is this exactly to him? A game or something?

Suddenly though Peter gives a nod. "Hey, look, there's the gen." He mutters and immediately my eyes snap onto the deathly silent machine. The rudders were still and rigid and absolutely nothing seemed to stir within the area of the sleeping gen.

It actually looked rather eerie but nonetheless the two of us trudged over towards it.

We quickly begin fingering at it and as soon as we do, the generator starts to produce a usual low hum.

As my hands continue working I somehow can't help but let my mind start to drift slowly back to Tris and her state of being.

What if Eric really did end up finding her before we even powered this generator? I didn't want to think of the despicable things that Eric could, and most definitely would do to my sweet Tris if he gets his hands on her again. There would be no escaping his onslaught.

The generator, of which I still worked on, now starts to gradually become louder, and the more I thought of Tris, the more fearful I was starting to become for her.

"Just a bit more. And then we can hurry back to the girls and get out of this horrible place." I hear Peter's voice next tell me and I am about to reply to him when suddenly a massively ailing headache randomly begins to come over me.

I close my eyes and shake my head a bit but the sensation does not go away.

What's happening to me...?

My head is throbbing now and I am in such agony all of a sudden.

"H-Hey uh, Four? You okay?" Peter's voice sounds again but I can hardly comprehend his existence.

"I-I, err, um.." I try to speak but my tongue feels tied and I am at a loss for words. "My head is hurting, real badly all of a sudden." I finally explain and with this, immediately Peter's eyebrows raise up.

"Wait, wait. I think I know why your head might be hurting." He then states slowly and I blink at him in frustration. "W-Why?" I snap now and he just gives me a stare. "What exactly are your four perks?" He finally deliberately asks and my mind whirls for the answers.

How could this possibly be the feeling of a perk?

I hurriedly try and start recalling my perks anyways though.

"I-I have Speed-Boost, Premonition, Adrenaline, and Dark Sense." I now state and instantly Peter's eyes widen; even so that he stops working on the generator.

I slowly stop working on the generator as well and just look to him. "Well?"

At last he speaks, and when he does, his voice is slightly shaky. "Y-Your pain will wear off within moments. But I think this is the sensation you get for your one perk, Dark Sense." He explains thoroughly and just as he says this, my head slowly starts to relieve itself from the traumatizing pain onset.

"D-Dark Sense is causing this?" I question oddly with a hand going to my head next. "Why would it be painful though?" I then ask.

Peter blinks and gives me a ponderous look. "Because perks like Dark Sense are really special. You get to see things I think." He explains and at this I finally just cast him a disbelieving look.

Is he joking with me?

But from the way Peter's stance looked and from the way his frightful eyes gleamed, I was rather reassured that he was not bluffing on this.

"J-Just... um... try and look around? Do you see anything?" He then suggests and I then turn to look in every direction that my eyes will look in.

And then I see it.

My eyes suddenly catch a wavering neon-orange glow. My mouth goes dry and I feel myself tense with rigidness.

Peter was right. I could see something. But what was I seeing exactly? And how on earth was this possible and happening to me?

Finally though, as if on que, the orange blob within my vision conforms suddenly into a figure. It is the figure of a man.

I blink in disbelief at what I am beholding and within a flash the vision is gone; all orange fading from within my sights.

A silence then just comes over me.

"W-Well? What did you see?" Peter asks next from behind me, but I am already on my feet, my heart-rate already pounding as fast as it has ever gone.

"I-I.. I saw a man. I saw... Eric." I breathe at last and with this Peter leaps to his feet as well, his body beside mine. "Where? Where, in which direction did you see him?" He hurriedly asks now and I bolt forward.

Peter would have the finish the generator on his own.

My Dark Sense perk had given me a look of where Eric was.

He hadn't shown up on the scene when Christina's foot had been ensnared in a trap. He had been stalking; hiding somewhere and simply listening.

My Dark Sense had revealed to me his whereabouts.

And right now, he was back in the direction of Tris and Christina...
