Sitting on top of the bed was a small dress. It was an off the shoulder number with a tight bodice and flared skirt. It was a dark crimson color, similar to Luke's power when he used it. There was a pair of matching flats on the floor and a strapless bra. Everything seemed to be that same crimson color. I dressed inside of the bathroom and was mildly surprised when the dress fit me.
I combed through my hair with a brush I found in a drawer. There was a brand new toothbrush and a tube of toothpaste that I used. I towel dried my hair and left the bathroom. This time Luke was sitting on the bed when I emerged. "The dress looks nice." He stood and approached me slowly.
"Just lead the way, Luke." I sighed, keeping my arms crossed in front of my chest. He nodded and placed a hand on the small of my back. Luke led me down the hallway and into another bedroom.
It was bigger than my own bedroom in my own castle. There was a large canopy bed that was at least a California king. The walls were red and the floors were wood. There was a fireplace against one wall and a sliding glass door on another. There was a sitting area by the fireplace which consisted of a couch with two armchairs and a coffee table. A large bookcase was near the fireplace and on it sat colorful books.
He led me out of the glass door and I nearly gagged. There was a small glass table on the balcony. It was candlelit and had a bottle of wine ready to be opened. Luke pulled out a chair for me and sat across the table.
"I hope you realize I am underage, it's a crime to provide a minor with alcohol." I said when he opened the bottle and poured some into my glass. Luke just smiled and poured more into the glass.
"I doubt a glass of wine will be a problem." He responded and filled his own glass. It was a dark red wine that did not appeal to me in any way.
The food was some type of fish with a buttery sauce and a basil pesto pasta. It was delicious but the company was not. Luke acted as though this was a normal date and it was infuriating. I had downed the glass of wine the second he started asking me questions.
"I'm sure this cliche dinner act usually works for you but stop it. I'm not just suddenly going to forget that you kidnapped me, and fed from me. You may think you're charming enough to make anyone fall for you but you're just an Incubus. Just let me leave and you'll have nothing to regret." I groaned in complete exasperation.
"I see romance is lost on you, how did the shifter get past your prickly side?" Luke leaned back in his chair and sipped his wine.
"He didn't. I was using him to keep men like you away." My answer was brutally honest but it didn't Luke didn't give me the response I expected. He laughed as though I had told him a joke.
"So many walls for a girl so young." He spoke under his breath. I almost couldn't hear him over the soft music playing from a set of speakers by the door. "Dance with me, Aspen." It wasn't a request. When he stood up from the table and extended a hand I accepted.
He pulled me close and his hands settled on my lower back. My arms were around his shoulders as he led. I was uncomfortably close to the Incubus who wanted to break my heart.
"You're very naive for a Succubus. It's almost cute." Luke had that wicked smile as he spoke and I was wary of his next actions. "I hope you realize you're not getting into my pants and that all of this is just a waste of time." I kept a pleasant expression perched on my face.
"We'll see. I'm sure your dreams will be a different story." His purple eyes flashed with delight.
"Stay out of my mind, if you insert yourself into my dreams I will stab you... right here." My hand slid down his chest and pressed directly over his heart. Then I dragged it lower. "I wonder how an Incubus will fair if he's missing this part." A wicked smile crossed my lips as I whispered to him. His muscles tensed as my hand settled over the crotch of his pants.
"You're treading on thin ice, love." His delighted smirk never faltered but his coiled muscles told me my threat was effective.
"Then test me and we'll see who falls through first." I challenged, before slipping out of his arms. Luke let me leave and I escaped his room easily. His eyes burned my back the whole walk out. Once in the hallway I leaned against the wall. My head was tilted back and my eyes were closed as I calmed my racing heart. Here's to hoping he stayed out of my dreams tonight.
"Feisty queen, we meet again." My eyes flew open and a familiar pale demon hovered in front of me. Stark. His silver eyes shined dangerously as he leaned closer to me. "You look delicious." He grinned down at me and I suddenly felt very small.
"I'm not on the menu." I responded and detached from the wall.
"Let me escort you back to your room, my lady." He gave me no chance to say no as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders. Stark pulled me down the hallway towards the bedroom.
"It's too bad Luke wants you, we could have had fun." Stark whispered into my ear as I opened the door.
"What a shame, demons aren't my type." I dipped out from under his arm and closed the door in his face. I leaned against it and held it closed as he turned the handle. After an amused laugh the blond demon retreated back down the hallway.
I yanked off the dress and the stupid strapless bra and slid into a large t shirt and a pair of shorts I found in the wardrobe. I brushed my teeth and French braided my hair before I climbed into the bed. Sam's shirt was still on the floor where he had left it. My stomach curled in suspicion as I remembered his reaction to his brother. If Sam was scared of Luke then who was worse? I slipped into a fitful sleep, the only thing in my mind was crimson tingles. And then I was gone.
