Drowning. That's what it felt like. Drowning in sorrow, pain, hurt, the feeling of loss, turmoil, fear, everything. Her thoughts and demons were enveloping her with every passing second. She kept backing away until her back hit the wall with no more space to run. Cornered, she looked around the darkness for someone to help her. By the door she saw a person emitting a faint light. Maybe they could help. "Help!" She yelled with any hope that they might light up the dark and drive away her demons. The person looked at her and gently shook their head and with that the light completely faded. "NO!" She shouted once more and tried to find that light again but she couldn't. A cackle brought her attention back to her demons who stood in front of her. Their claws creeping up her feet and their aura surrounding her. She tried to push them off, kick, shove, fight but she realised something. Who was she fighting for? As she looked back at her demons who were close to devouring her soul, her light. She smiled. The demons were caught off and retreated, now eyeing her carefully. She shook her head and offered her hand. "There's no need for me to fight you anymore. I've destroyed everything already. My refuge has been cursed because of me. I deserve this." The shadows crept up her arm and the demons' eyes glinted with malevolence as though reminding her of her dreadful choice but she was ready to accept her fate. She inhaled one last time and with it her demons had entered and corrupted her light. Her soul was now a beautiful black with shadows haunting her every move. The once sparkling eyes became empty. The once radiant smile had reduced to a sinister smirk. The once gold heart had turned to stone ice. The once joyful girl had died. She and her demons were one. The darkness had become her place of dwelling and comfort. The pain was now addictive, she got high off the feeling of hurt and suffering. Never letting herself heal but instead be haunted. She deserved this. All of it...
