I pray

31 2 2

I pray to thee,
To set me free

From flesh and bone,
From the place I once called home

I pray my soul burns bright,
Enough to give others light

I pray to be remembered not for sins but the good,
For those great acts that left others shook

I pray for mankind to know true peace,
Not just war and misery that never seem to cease

I pray with a hope that all shall find love.
Not empty vows, discarded like worn out gloves

I pray every sunrise brings light to your life,
Gives you hope that you will succeed in what you strive

I pray the wind is with you on stormy days
I know it is challenging to see clearly through such a haze

In the end I pray that come what may,
You will find strength to live through another day
