What's that?
A scratch from the cat.

What about the water in your eyes, are those tears?
No it's just a bit of dust, don't worry about the make up smeared.

What about those dark circles under your eyes?
Late reruns of tv shows, not hours filled with screams and cries.

What about your weight? You've barely got any fat.
Just a bit of a new diet, nothing too bad.

Are you having nightmares? Losing sleep?
Of course not, it's just dreams.

Are you in pain?
Why would I be smiling if I were caught in such a chain.

What about that smile? It looks broken.
It's nothing, not my happiness stolen.

Why surround yourself in the dark?
Cause I fear what the light will show me, its already left its own mark.
