I pull my car into the crowded parking lot of my school. There is more cars here than there should be. "We are late." Tobias whispers.
"I know. It is alright." I tell him. I pull the handle and push open my door.
Tobias does the same and he walks over to my side. His fingers find their way into mine. "My dad is going to kill me."
I press the button on my keys that lock s the doors. Tobias and I walk into the building and wind through the halls. "The best way is to face our monsters." He whispers. "I will face my monsters eventually."
We reach Tori's door. I stop Tobias right before we go into the room. He takes a step closer to me. "I need to face my monsters too. I have quite a few." I whisper. He pulls my face up to his. There is now only a few inches between our lips.
My arms find their way around his neck, and his hands stay rested on my hips. "We can face our fears together." He whispers as he slowly starts to close the small gap between our lips.
The door to Tori's room is opened right before we start to kiss. "Oh there you two are. I didn't want to count you to absent." We both separate a little bit and look at the ground. "I knew you two would end up together too. Come on."
We follow her into the classroom. I can feel every look up to stare at us. "Tris!" Christina yells.
"Yes Christina?" I ask her when I take a seat next to her. Tobias takes the seat right next to me. He rests his arm on the back of my seat.
"Are you two?" She points at Tobias and I. "Uriah said that......But I didn't believe him."
"Yes Christina we are." I tell her. I look up at Tobias and smile. "Eric can't know though. Eric doesn't like me and he would kill Tobias and I both. Don't talk about it to anyone."
"Don't worry." She looks at the table.
The bell rings and saves me from anymore awkward questions. Tobias walks me to my first period and then I walk into class and sit in my seat. "Tris what happened to your cheek." Christina asks as she comes to sit by me.
"Peter ganged up on me last night. I'll be ok. It's not that bad I guess." I reassure her. She just looks at me with the 'yeah whatever you say' sort of look.
As usual class went by really slow. The bell that rings between each period has become the best part of my day. I rush out into the hall to meet Tobias. My fingers rap into his and I smile at him.
On my way to my next class we walk by a kid with a big black hoodie on. The hood is pulled over his head so that a dark shadow masks his face. As we walk by him I swear I hear the word "stiff." I look back at the kid long enough for a bit of light to hit the kids face. What I see sends a chill down my back.
Peter looks up and meets my gaze. His face his covered in bruises and dry blood. I stop walking and stand in the middle of the hallway. "Tris what are you looking at?" I slowly turn my head back to Tobias.
"Yeah hold on." I let go of Tobias and walk away from the safety net he gives me.
I walk toward Peter just as he is about to walk away. I push past the other kids in the hallway. Every thing starts to move in slow motion.
When I reach Peter I can feel my body shake with anger. "Peter you coward!" I growl at him.
He looks up and smiles at me. "At least I actually fight when I need to Ms. Four is going to do everything foe me. "
I shove him into a locker and his hood falls off. The full extent of the damage that was done to his face is exposed. "Me? NO!." I growl. I drive my fist into is stomach. A grunt escapes Peter's mouth "You had my hands zip-tied behind my back. I had no chance Peter. You are the one that had all your friends gang up on me."
