Chapter 52

David's POV
When the Doctor finally gets to the house he bangs on the door loudly and Amanda and Simon just let themselves in. The doctor asked me to take her to our bed and so I did and now I've been kicked out of the room. As I pace back and forth Simon grabs my shoulder.
"Stop pacing for God's sake." He says and then shoves a pizza in his mouth.
"Wait where the hell did you get pizza?" I ask quickly.
"Uh, we ordered it because we were hungry and couldn't wait any longer." He says like I'm stupid.
"How can you eat at a time like this?!?" I exclaim and snatch the food out of his hand. "For all I know Alesha, my Alesha Dixon, could be freaking dead and your shoving your face with Pizza!" I yell and then break down into tears. Amanda quickly walks up to me and wraps her small arms around my waist.
"David, calm down." She whispers in my ear.
"I can't lose her Mandy." I cry and begin to feel my knees go weak. She slowly falls with me and we sit in the floor rocking back and forth. Finally the Doctor comes down and I shoot up.
"Is she okay?"
"She is unconscious but she can hear you." The doctor says looking down at his shoes.
"How long will she be unconscious?" I ask, trying to keep it together.
"There's no certainty of how much time. Could be a day, a week, maybe even months." He says calmly.
"Months!!" I yell.
"David, calm down." Amanda whispers in my ear.
"No! I will not calm down! This is my wife we are talking about! Who's gonna do live shows with us and hang out with us when she's not here!" I say and begin to cry.
Simon goes to pat my back but I push him away and walk outside, slamming the door behind me.
Amanda's POV
David slams the door so hard that the windows shake. I let out a sigh and the doctor leaves with a frown on his face. I lean over the counter and put my face in my hands. I feel a set of strong arms wrap around my waist and squeeze lightly.
"It's alright Mandy." Simon whispers in my ear.
"No, Si it's not. My best friend is unconscious and her husband is on the verge of losing it. I can't handle this much more" I say collapsing on his chest.
"I know baby girl." He whispers and rubs my back, holding me tighter.
"I wanna go see her." I mumble. Simon looks down at me and then nods softly in approval. I let him go and walk up the stairs. Opening their bedroom door there is Alesha, laying in the bed with nothing over her but a bandage for her head. I pull a chair beside her and grab one of her hands.
"Hey Wifey." I whisper and let out a sigh. "David's freaking out. I think he might lose it." I chuckle. "He loves you so much. There's actually a song by Christina Perri that reminds me of you guys." I smile and then begin to sing to her.

Once I'm done I notice Simon in the doorway. He walks over to me and once I'm in his arms it's all I can do to keep myself together. He kisses the top of my head and I hear him sniffling. I look up and tears and running down his face. I reach up and wipe them away and the kiss his lips softly. I hear a knock at the door and there is David. His face is red, eyes puffy, and he's wet with tears. Simon and I look at each other and then leave the two alone.
Alesha's POV
I try to look around but everything is just black. I can hear voices but not everything is clear. Then I hear Mandy's voice. She's singing to me, I never knew she could sing. She sounds so beautiful. She stops and I hear her crying and then I hear another set of footsteps. Like clicks, that must be Simon and his boots. I hear them both crying and I try to move but can't. I try moving my hand or arms but it won't work. It's as if I'm tied down. Everything goes quiet and then I hear shuffling.
"Hey Babe." I hear David's voice say. He's been crying, I can tell by the way he's speaking and he's sniffling as if he's been crying all day. I hear his voice again so I try to concentrate on his voice and listen to him.
"I remember when we first met. You were always giving me the stink eye like I had just stole your best friend. I didn't even like you. I thought you were stuck up and annoying and then after the first season, you started to grow on me. You began to become softer towards me and still gave me the stink eye. But, you were so cute. The way you scrunched you nose and always was slapping me, but I loved you. The way you would sneak your hand into mine at times and make me feel so wanted and vulnerable. It's like I melted in your hands with your soft voice and beautiful looks." He began to cry.
"Alesha, I need you to wake up for me. I don't want to be without you babe. Don't wanna take a breath without you. Just please give me sign that your gonna wake up soon." He grabs my hand and I can tell he's crying harder. I have to do this for him. I concentrate and use all my strength to squeeze his hand. He starts to laugh and I can tell he's crying still but happy. "Okay babe! Thank you so much! I love you Alesha and I'm not gonna leave your side until you wake up." He says and lays his head beside my waist. Soon everything goes quiet and I let myself fall until I can't see anything but a light.
