Minutes had passed, though we were still like complete statues. I hadn't made eye contact with him once since my vision had became blurry with wetness. Sometime he had started stroking my hair, probably to comfort me, though I felt like a puppy. My sobs had stilled and the stream of tears had begun drying on my cheeks. I knew for sure that my voice would be hoarse and if I spoke it would sound like a dying crow, and I was not risking being made fun of. My eyes were laid upon Dwight's bandaged chest and I noticed him take a deep breath. Unnecessary, I thought, you don't have to breath.

"Why did you do it?" I murmured to his chest. He leaned back in order to face me. I carefully looked up and saw him raising one eyebrow.
"I mean, why did you stop the ball?" I almost spat.
"Of course I did." He replied and my heart skipped a beat.
"It was a part of the game." He continued and I promptly took a step back. Once again he lifted his eyebrow, however, this time combined with a smirk.
"What, you think I did it to protect you?" He snorted.
"I didn't say that." I monotonously replied.
"Then why were you worried?" He took a step closer. I didn't take a step back ensuing I was not intimidated. However this action may have seemed futile since I did not have an answer to his question. I myself thought he did it in order to save me and therefor I thought it was logical to worry about him. Nevertheless, I know that wasn't the reason as of now, yet it didn't completely erase the fleeting feeling.
"Don't tell me..." He begun and I looked up at him whilst swallowing nervously. What did he have in mind now?
"You fell in love with after the kiss?" His smirk grew wider. The usual me would have been flustered and unable to talk, however, me right now launched my fist towards his cheek. Despite my attempt Dwight caught my wrist effortlessly.
"I wouldn't do that if I was you, sugar. It would hurt you more than me." He warned. I've never wanted to erase that smug face so badly before. I tried to reclaim my wrist and I knew I wouldn't have if he didn't release me. Dwight let out a breath and crossed his arms over his damaged chest, which I couldn't care less about in this moment.
"Anyhow, since I apparently saved you ... You owe me once again." He stated to which I could not reply since I was busy being shocked. My mouth fell open in disbelief.
"That is not fair. I did not ask you to save me." I finally retorted, placing my hands on my hips.
"Nevertheless, I saved you." He inquired.
"But still ..." I begun sounding whiny which Dwight took as my loss and his win. I sighed and Dwight's smirk grew broader. Then a knock was heard and our attention was drawn towards the door which were creaking open.
"I am sorry to disturb but I need to get back to work." Isaac entered the room and laughed awkwardly.
"And you should get to bed, Miss Dale." Isaac smiled gently at me which I returned in the same manner. It was hardly believable that this kind man was a vampire.
"You're right." I confirmed and stepped away from Dwight. However I was forced to halt owing to Dwight's grip around my wrist. I sighed.
"Haven't we've gone through this before? This habit of yours need ..." my sentence faded off as I turned to see Dwight's expression. It was so serious with a hint of what seemed like worry. He didn't say anything. After a couple of seconds of silence I let out a nervous laugh.
"I should really get going." I urged as I tried to wriggle free from his constrain. I didn't dare to utter anything else since I never knew what was going on in Dwight's mind. I did not want to risk saying too much of what I do not fully understand. He released me and I could feel a burning sensation on my wrist, albeit, it didn't hurt. I turned around, giving Isaac another smile, and left. I almost ran down the corridors, my right hand holding my other wrist to my chest. I tried not to think that there were some special meaning to his gesture, but how could I not? The thought of having to take deep breaths appeared from time to time but forgotten just as quick. I ignored the stares I was getting from the still roaming students and kept a steady pace. I reached the dormitory which were dark since the lights had been put out. The window to Mrs. Collins desk had been covered by two small-scaled wooden doors. I practically ran up the stairs, to our room. The familiar numbers, 164, appeared in my vision and I unlocked the door. I entered and was meet by Maggie's surprised look.
"Are you okay?" She said as she stood up and hurried over to me. She was dressed in her pyjamas, baby blue shorts and a white tank top.
"Huh? Yeah, I'm fine." I declared, avoiding eye contact.
"Are you sure? You seem quite flustered. Perhaps you are running a fever." Maggie concluded and placed her cold hand on my forehead. I flinched but stayed put. I blinked nervously, afraid she would figure out why I was looking so perplexed.
"Wait a minute." Maggie retracted her hand and a suspicious look appeared on her face. Her blue eyes were squinted as she looked at me.
"You just came back from meeting Dwight, right?" she goaded. I swallowed nervously.
"What?" was the only intelligent thing able to leave my mouth.
"Oh my god, did you kiss, again?" She sounded thrilled. I groaned inwardly.
"No, no. Absolutely not." I confirmed. I made my way past her to my bed. I reached for my night gown beneath my pillow.
"Then ...?" Maggie prompted me to tell.
"He did more of the opposite." I cursed, this making Maggie think. I undressed and dressed myself in my short, navy blue gown.
"Did he hit you?" She exclaimed terrified.
"What?" I grimaced.
"He was just being a jerk." I concluded and Maggie became at ease.
"Wasn't he hurt?" She then asked seriously. I halted to think. He was hurt, but not hurt enough to make fun of me.
"Isaac said he would heal soon." I explained.
"That's good, isn't it?" She looked at me and smiled.
"Yeah, it's good." I confirmed.
