I am not looking forward to the classes. Yeah, history class went well but the class after that was the total opposite of nice. It was "killing technique class" I had no idea what I was doing there.
But before class we had a small break between.
"Forgive me Quinn..." I heard Maggie say when we walked towards the next class room.
"For what?" I said confused and looked at her.
"I said that I would protect you, yet I failed."she said as her head hung.
"It's not your fault." I said and laid my left hand on her shoulder which she looked at. I noticed that she stared at my gesture and I removed my hand.
"Sorry." I said quickly.
"No it's not that." She said and stopped and so did our companions. Maggie grabbed my hands and looked into my green eyes.
"I'm just glad that you trust me enough to touch me." she said, almost crying catching me off guard.
That's why? Though I'm pretty surprised myself. I just met her this morning and I'm already this attached to this girl.
"Well..." I begun, not really sure what to say when I didn't understand myself.
"Maggie, stop bothering her." Natasha said and pulled her back by her shoulder.
"okay, okay." Maggie said and we continued to walk again.
"If I might ask..." I heard Leon say and I turned towards my right where he was walking.
"Yes?" I said and tilted my head.
"How long have you've been here?" He asked and smiled.
" A few hours? I got here this morning." I said and replied with a smile on my lips.
"Aren't you tired?" He asked caringly.
"I am, but I guess I'm too nervous to notice it." I said and laughed awkwardly.
"Then, If you are so nervous why did you come here?" He asked and I couldn't answer. I didn't know why I'd come here. My grandmother told me to and that is all I know.
"Sorry, was that to personal?" He said and gave me a worried expression.
"No. I just... my grandmother died and..." I explained.
"What? Your grandmother died?" Maggie suddenly said, ignoring her conversation with Natasha.
"Yeah, that's why I'm here." I said and looked at her.
"You are saying that you don't have any parents?" Natasha filled in.
"Yes..." I said and I tried not to express my sadness.
"Which one of your parents were a vampire?" Maggie asked.
"My father." I said.
"What was your fathers name?" Natasha asked and her question made me blink in shock. This morning I found out that his last name was Darknight and I already knew that his name was Alexander so, Alexander Darknight. I remembered that I was not allowed to tell that to anyone.
"I don't... know." I hesitated.
"You don't know?" Natasha said confused.
"Yeah." I answered.
"So you are saying that you've never met your parents?" Leon asked and I turned towards him once again.
"They died when I was a year old." I said and tried to keep a straight face.
"I'm so sorry." Maggie said and laid her hand on my shoulder.
"It's okay, I don't really remember them."  I said but I didn't say what I felt. I really wanted to have my parents alive. To be like everyone else. To have my mother there to talk about girl stuff and to have my father there to break the boys faces who broke my heart. To have family Fridays and stuff like that but no... I'm not saying that it was bad living with my grandmother. It was actually really good. We had nice times together and it's really sad that she's gone now.
"So you have been living with that grandmother of yours your whole life?" Natasha asked and I nodded.
"At least you had someone." she said and nodded.
"You're right." I said smiling.
"What was your grandmothers name?" Leon asked. I thought for a minute, I can tell my grandmothers name right? She isn't a vampire so they can't possibly know her.
"Cynthia Dale." I answered.
"Cynthia?" Maggie said.
"Don't we know a Cynthia?" She continued and looked over at Natasha.
"Yes, I think so..." Natasha said and went lost in thoughts.
Did I just tell them something I shouldn't have? I thought hysterical. They must be thinking of someone else, right? It can't possibly my granny.
"Natasha!" we heard someone yell from behind us and we all turned around and we saw a woman covered with clothes made of white fur which made it hard to separate her white hair with the fur beneath the fur you could glimpse a red coat. Around her neck was several white pearl necklaces. Her face was pale but she had covered her cheek with red blush. She wore light blue eyeshadow and wore enough mascara to make her eyelashes coal black.
"Mother?!" Natasha outbursts.
"What is it that I'm seeing? Are you socializing with a human?" her mother accused with disgust in her tone.
"Mother, please, not now." Nath pleaded.
"How dare you dishonor your family in this way?" she asked and not believing what she saw. Nath sighed as she stared at her mother.
"Why are you even here, mother?" Nath finally asked, leaning on one leg as she placed a hand on her hip.
"I had a meeting with the headmaster." She answered, tilting her head.
"About..?" Nath pushed.
"Nothing that concerns you, dear. Anyway, I hope you would stop hanging out with lowlifes." Her mother said as she gave me what I would call "the evil eye", terrifying. I've never been put down this much in my whole life. Her mother huffed and then turned on her heels and left.
