Your POV
You had to shield your eyes from the storm of snow that rushed past but with your arms wrapped around Shadow's neck as he ran at an inhuman speed, the best thing you could do was bury your face in his chest. The temperature plummeted as soon as you'd left the train and the only thing you could survey about where ever you were, was that it was cold, snowing and night.
I wish I had a warmer jacket. It's freezing!
You guessed though that had you been decked out in winter clothes then at a glance, possible vampires might be able to figure out you were headed somewhere cold.
The blurred landscape you could tell was first a town or city, but then everything went quiet as you appeared to be running through open fields, sinister looking trees passing every so often. For about a solid minute the only thing could be heard was Shadow's rapid footsteps.
Before all to suddenly he stopped.
Despite it being dark you could see the entrance to what could only be described as a cave. Entering an endless stone passage way lay ahead, no end in sight. You involuntary shivered at the sight.
But that didn't stop Shadow walk right in.
As he made his way down however he still didn't put you down.
"I can walk if you want." You offered quietly, your voice echoing a little.
Although you knew you'd probably trip as you couldn't actually see a thing.
"Part of the plan is to make sure your scent can't be traced from the carriage, which means you can't travel of your own accord." he explained.
"My scent?" you asked confused.
"There are vampire trackers who could very well be able to recognize your scent, meaning the could easily track you down." he elaborated.
"But surely me just not walking around the place is enough for my scent to not be left lingering." you thought out loud.
"I have the ability to mask your scent."
"How?"
But he didn't answer. For a second you wondered if he hadn't heard you, but that was practically impossible at the moment. Sick of all the silences you started to ask more questions.
"Wouldn't it be faster if you ran through this cave?" you asked.
Secretly wanting to get out of the dark. You hated the dark and if it wasn't for Shadow you'd loose it.
"This pathway has been here for centuries and is fragile so if anything were to pass at high speeds it would risk damaging the structure." he explained.
"Oh, and how long does the cave go on for?" you wondered.
"For about a mile, it leads straight to the safe house. Its underground meaning not many mobians know about it."
"Underground?"
"Yes, above is a mansion and below is a large area sufficient for living in."
You had been expecting an isolated basic house, but no. You'd be hiding underneath a mansion.
"And where exactly are we?"
"Italy, more specifically Northern Italy in the Aosta Valley. The safe house is isolated so the chances of either mobains or vampires coming across it are slim, along with the snow causing travel issues."
Wow, they've really thought of everything haven't they?
After a short while a dim sort of rectangle came into view, which seemed a little odd seeming though everything had been pitch black until now. Eventually it got closer and you could figure out it was a door, with light leaking from the edges of the door.
