Your POV

'Run'

In that dire instant the garden Shadow stood was rapidly enshrouded in a savage storm of purple mist, the outside world becoming nothing but a violet abyss. Mephiles had found you.

"Shadow!?"

But your words were eaten and digested by the overwhelming vigorous roar of the un-penetrable shroud.

"Shadow!?"

On instinct your hand lifted back and up to where your Crescent Moon gun was holstered, having been given it back when you first awoke in the mansion, the root reflex to look for it for protection even though it could do very little in this situation.

Despite the panic you were able to recall that you weren't to step out of the mansion, otherwise that would only make the situation astronomically worse. He was calling back but you couldn't auscultate what he was trying to desperately call to you. Leaning closer to the barbaric environment, unaware that you placed a single foot on the cracked concrete just as you made out his words.

"Stay inside!"

But his words came to late. Your eyes only caught onto the glimpse of what appeared to be a indigo shadow like ball, before it collided with your chest sending you hurtling across the grounds! You came to a rapid halt splintering against a moss covered stone bench it crumbled upon your impact!

Coughing from the loss of air you could also taste the metallic liquid of a drizzle of blood in your mouth, the sharp edged shards of rock digging into every limb. Against the howling storm you could hear him stepping towards you, frantic to move you commanded any part of you to move, with only your chest obeying your instructions maneuvering in the upward and downward motion in breath. That orb must have been some form of paralysis spell.

His footsteps came to a pause reaching your side, you being unable to look up to meet his gaze.

"Enough games." he growled.

Even in this moment you thought his comment to be rather ironic, considering he could have taken you any time he wanted since you had been located in the safe house. Your entire life had been a game to him.

"(Y/N)!?" Shadow's stricken voice called over the calamity, yet he sounded miles away.

Mephiles glanced back to about the direction Shadow was, pausing and hesitating to display his power, and now he expected to win, to look back down at you with a sinister glare before taking you away for his own means. Yet he hadn't expected to feel a sharp shard of rock collide with his face!

Stumbling back a couple of paces he glared back to you with a torn muzzle shocked as you stumbled up, purple bloody rock in hand.

"How!?" he bellowed.

You couldn't answer it yourself, but something in how desperate Shadow had sounded, how hurt. You finally knew everything he had been through, loosing his only family, being labeled a traitor, creating his most deadly enemy, blaming himself for this whole ordeal, and now he was more afraid of himself than ever.

Your own trials were hardly anything from trivial, yet you could never compare your life to his tragedies. His dark demure and appearance were more understandable than ever, his heart was that of a regular mortal, and no mortal heart was designed to under go such torment. And at the pain in his voice something inside you fought off the spell, determined to never let anything or anyone hurt him again. And that included you.

Returning Mephiles' glare the paralysis was now being replaced with something much stronger, an electricity powering every cell of your body. Ready to fight.
