Your POV

Flicking through the pristine pages of your new spell book, the handwriting written in delicate black ink and intricate text. Many of the spells paralleled the previous spells in your mothers spell book you had found in your old home. But rather than grow sad at the thought you gave a small smile, being relieved and touched that Shadow had brought the two books to the mansion as well.

He even had told you that your photo album was in good condition back in the HQ in Italy. Whom he was currently on the phone to down the hall on an old, but secure, rotary phone.

"Understood. Did Sally receive the given information? Good."

Once Shadow had told his tale you took your turn, informing him of Mephiles' explanation at your being a half breed, and he had delivered this new knowledge to Sally. But you being a half breed had deeply surprised and concerned him, and you understood why when he explained to you that half breeds were feared the most by those who resented the supernatural kind.

In actual fact during the great purge, when he had lost Maria and Gerald, he had learnt of many barbaric occasions when half breeds had been either murdered still inside their mothers or murdered shortly after their birth. Killed for simply being conceived, not even given the chance to be born.

Which resulted in the law being passed of half breeds being banned to be conceived.

Naturally these briefly described murders horrified you. But Shadow was quick to assure you that you were safe here, you were safe with him. Where you were currently, it was a mansion in upper Scotland, and it had been the home of Maria, Gerald and Shadow. And he hadn't returned here since they were executed.

To many memories, which pained him too much.

Yet he seemed to have overcome all that, for you. And he told you of how, even now, the house was still enchanted, along with many charms and talismans buried around the grounds. Very much like the hunter society HQ's Mephiles would be unable to enter the grounds. So you were unable to leave the building.

So once again it was a waiting game. Staying in the dark until Mephiles was caught, who was now being hunted by the hunter society. And you still found it odd that very often all you did was wait around, unlike action movies and adventure books when they would be packed with endless action, locations always changing.

Shadow was still talking on the phone to Sally but you didn't pay attention to his words as you caught onto a particular spell. It was called the Evangelium spell. Recalling the spell you had used against Mephiles you remembered that 'Rache' meant revenge in German. And you could remember your mother telling you that her grandfather was German.

Meaning all her spells must have been formulated by your mothers grandfather. You racked your brain for the few German words your mother had taught you, in the hopes you would one day become fluent. Ich Heibe, I am. Hallo, hello. Tusch, goodbye. Evangelium, Evangelium, Evangelium... meaning, gospel. Gospel? Gospel spell?

Gospel was the bible, but why would your mother think you would need a spell to do with the bible. However, the bible, for Christians, contained the truth. So the word gospel could also be interpreted as the truth. Indeed now you knew what you were, how your parents where taken from you and why Mephiles was after you.

Yet this spell made you wonder if there was anything else there was for you to know, Figuring you had nothing to lose you recited the spell, waiting for its effects to take place. When, nothing happened. Giving a sigh you figured you decided you must know everything you needed to.

Just then you heard a heavy sound, caught in between a clatter and a thumping sound, yet it was obvious it wasn't normal. So putting down your book you dashed out your room, headed down the stairs, only to grow cold at the sight of Shadow staggered on the floor.
