Nervous interview

I'm rushing out the door barely even processing that Amaimon has told me goodbye, I'm supposed to meet Yukio by the fountain in five minutes and just my luck, I overslept again, because a certain someone thinks it's funny to shut all of my alarms off.
I am slowly catching on though, I've been training Amber to wake me up.
I run out the door, I practically fly down the stairs taking two at at a time. Yukio is already at the fountain, he doesn't seem to notice that I'm out of breath or does not care enough to question it.
"Good morning," I pant wishing I had thought to bring a water with me.
"Morning Y/n, are you ready to go?" He looks me over in the judgmental way he always does.
I nod rather than actually answering, he seems to be almost forcing himself to be polite, it annoys me.
"Are we walking?" I frown my heart beat finally able to slow down inside my chest.
"Yes," is all he says before he starts walking out of campus.
I feel like groaning, but I know that will make my walk even more awkward. Too bad I could not drag Amaimon or heck even Mephisto, at least I can talk to them.
I put forth an effort to constantly be a few paces behind Yukio, just to avoid awkward small talk, I really suck at small talk. It's a rather long walk unfortunately, and by the time we reach the Vatican the sun is high in the sky.
I allow Yukio to lead me inside, it's a lot bigger than I would ever have imagined. It's also packed to the brim with exorcists running up and down halls, and in and out of doors as if they have a world to save.
Which I guess in a way they do.
Yukio clears his throats to regain my wandering attention, he starts to head towards a long hallway. I get a few curious glances as we walk, some people even say hello, I make a point to smile at them.
Nerves are making me all fidgety, I'm glad I have a pack of gum with me, I pop a piece in my mouth. Chewing it helps me to stop from drumming my fingers on walls or tapping my feet.
The further along the hallway we go the more worried I get, what if I say the wrong thing?
The size of the place is definitely not helping things, it's makes me feel small almost insignificant compared to the exorcists.
Eventually we come to a stop in front of two dark polished doors, Yukio knocks three times before standing back to wait with me.
It shocks me when Shura is the one to answer, "morning four-eyes."
Yukio doesn't return the greeting instead he says, "I've brought y/n to be questioned as the order has asked."
"Right, well you can go now," she smirks. "I'm sure you have loads of crap to keep you busy."
I sense Yukio tensing up beside me, I can tell exchanges like this happen often.
Shura pushes me into the room slamming the door on Yukio laughing while she does. She turns her attention to me after opening a can of what I assume is beer.
"So y/n, I need you to call Amaimon here."
"Why didn't he just come with me then?" I frown watching her expression carefully.
"Do you really think they'd let a demon king stroll in this place? They don't even trust the clown let alone the one who's destroyed half the school," she snorts as if the answer should have been obvious.
"Then why do you want him to come?"
"I like to get things done the quick and easy way," she shrugs taking a slow sip from the can she has been carrying.
"Well alright I guess, but you won't hurt him right?" I raise an eyebrow tilting my head slightly.
"That depends on how he behaves," she snickers.
Feeling a slight bit better I make the call and though he is rather reluctant I eventually get him to agree to come.
Shura leaves me in the room to sneak him in, while she's away I have time to think. I let my mind wander as I wait for their return.
The door soon opens Amaimon comes in ahead of Shura who looks as if she's regretting her decision of allowing him into the building already.
"What exactly is my being here supposed to prove?" He sighs looking to me.
"Here," she chucks a pen a me, "this'll prove whether you'll soulmates or not."
I catch the pen wondering why Shura is the only one to think of this.
"You're gonna need to take those idiotic things off," she motions at Amaimon's arm warmer things. He complies, only after shooting her a nasty glare.
I start to drawing on my wrist, a henna flower that runs up the side of my hand. Shura grabs Amaimon's hand and stares, he growls at her, but makes no move to jerk his hand away.
After a moments the drawing slowly starts to appear on his hand as if I was drawing it there, all of us are watching it in silence.
"Well that settles that," Shura grunts as if dismissing the subject.
"Can we leave then?" I tilt my head curiously.
"Not quite," she sighs, "first I gotta make sure you're gonna stick with him or the Vatican will want you moved."
"What? Why?"
"See since you seem to be the more emotional one, if you leave to put it bluntly demon boy here might go berserk."
I glance at Amaimon, "what?"
"Common knowledge if you leave and he doesn't want you too, he'll go insane," the way she says it so calmly unnerves me, like it's happened before almost.
"So you are staying," it's more of an answer than a question as she's already heading out the door before I can even process the new information.
"Is what she said true? Would you really go insane?" I mumble unable to meet his gaze.
He shrugs, "I don't know."
"Well let's not find out either," I flash him a smile before heading to out of the room, Shura won't care enough to find us.
He follows a few paces behind me, I slow until we're walking side by side.
"Ya know, I'm pretty pleased you're my soulmate," I grin shoving him playfully.
"Are you?" He glances at me a look of surprise crossing his features.
"Yeah, I am."
"I am as well," he smiles for a few seconds.
"Sooooo are you taking me to the candy store?" I laugh trying my best to make light of what just happened.
"I suppose this means you're staying with me then?"
"I don't have an option at the moment do I?" I say it with a smile though my insides do a slight flip as the words leave my mouth. I need to talk to Mephisto about all of this.
"Depends are you paying?" He smirks not noticing my nerves.
"If you can tell me what my favorite gum flavor is," I usually end up paying anyway so might as well tease him into it.
"Spearmint."
"Okay you pay more attention to me than I thought," I nod looking down at my feet.
He grins at me, "you have to pay!"
"I know, I know. I would anyway even if you didn't know," I can't help but chuckle, he is so immature.
He startles me by taking my hand our fingers intertwine together, we share a look. I am content right now here with him, but could I really be forever?
