"You feel the
same way as I
feel about
you. And even
though we
don't say it,
that doesn't
make it any
less true."

Things have been going pretty smoothly between Bea and Maddie. They've talked on the phone overnight, they've gone out to have dinner and watch movies, they've gone on a road trip to Tagaytay a few weeks ago that was indeed relaxing for the both of them. Bea had so much fun hanging out with Maddie that she forgot about Jho and she doesn't want to look back because it might bring back the feelings she was trying to forget.

She was surprised when she got home and found their house decorated with lantern, Christmas lights were hanging on every corner and a big Christmas tree was positioned near the couch in the living room. It reminded how she was excited to open her presents when she was a kid.

"Anak, andito ka na pala. Is Maddie coming over on Christmas Eve? You should invite her." Her mother suggests as she kissed her on the cheek.

"I'll ask Mom. Baka kasi she's spending the holidays in Davao."

"Ganon ba? Your dad and I are excited pa naman to spend time with her. Kumusta na kayo?"

She scratched the back of her head. Truth is, their relationship had no labels. They know that they're exclusively seeing each other but that was it. Pretty chill she would say because there was no sense of ownership or commitment. It was all her fault. She knows Maddie really likes her but never asked her about their status. She's contented with it for the meantime so why bother?

"Yung totoo, we're chill lang mom. Still getting to know. It's almost three months pa lang na magkakilala kami."

Det shrugged. "Well, I hope things are doing good for you guys. Basta ask her, okay?"

Bea nodded then proceeded to her room. She immediately dialed Maddie's number. After the first ring, she answered.

"Hello, Bey Bey!" She could only shake her head. Maddie was always the lively one.

"Mads, ang hyper mo pa rin." She chuckled. "Just wanna ask you something."

"Ano yun? Grabe Nakakatakot ka naman. Liligawan mo na ako for real?" Maddie jokingly asked but she knew that Maddie was hoping she would answer sincerely.

"Ligaw agad? We'll get there." She tried to sound less serious. "Spend Christmas Eve with me and the family."

Maddie didn't even think twice of saying yes. She usually spends Christmas in Davao – it was always a tradition in their family, but she was invited by Bea – the Bea de Leon to spend Christmas Eve at her place.

Good Lord, could this year be any better for me? Maddie gladly thought.

"Then, we're all set. My parents are expecting you. Call you again later after dinner."

Bea hung up the phone then checked her social media accounts. It had been a while since she opened her accounts and it shocked her to see a name she never expected to appear.

*Jhoana Louisse Maraguinot has sent you a friend request*

She hesitated accepting it but she did anyway since she sees nothing wrong about it. They're away from each other – Jho can't affect her anymore.

But it was a stupid decision after all.

Jhoana Louisse: Beatriz!

Oh, her heart could have jumped out of her body all because of a message.
