she had a side of her

couldn't shine on it;
she had a side of her

Coffee? :)

-J

She was surprised to see a cup of hot coffee on her desk with a note stuck on it. She instantly threw her iced coffee in the trash and picked up the cup. She smiled like an idiot because Jho took her request seriously. Who would've thought? She removed the note and blew the coffee before taking a sip. She let out a soft chuckle the moment she remembered the time Jho became frantic because of her carelessness. Her mood was disrupted by an unexpected entrance.

"Miss Bea naman eh. Ngayon tumatawa ka na mag-isa?" Deanna gave her a puzzled look.

"Katok katok kasi minsan. Kung di lang magaan loob ko sayo Deanna Wong kanina pa kita sinakal. What is it?" She asked as she typed a message for Jho.

"Changes of schedule today. You're surveying an on going commercial shoot for a whole week."

To: Jhoana Maraguinot

Surprised by the coffee. Can't wait to start my day. 😊 Thanks!

"Hmmm. Okay. Where? What about the meetings?" She looked up after she sent the message.

"Your father has taken care of it. He wants you to focus this week on monitoring the shoot in Baguio," Deanna informed her.

She took a moment to process everything. When was she ever told to do this? Completely absurd!

She frowned. "Why?"

"Sabi ng dad mo it's going to be a workshop for our employee. You're accompanying her there."

Her shoulders slumped. She was not excited at the idea of being somewhere else right now. She and Jho have been conversing quite a lot lately and she feared that a lot of things would change between them if she went away for a week.

"Is there anyone else who can do that? Look, I'm really doing fine with all these paper works stacked on my desk. Hindi naman pagiging yaya yung trabaho ko dito, right?." She complained while burying her face on her palms.

"If you have any concern daw, talk to Sir Elmer. Wala po akong magagawa Miss Bea. Pinasabi lang sa akin eh." Deanna smiled apologetically then left the room.

She called her dad, who immediately picked up the phone.

"Beatriz, what's the problem?"

"Sir I'll just stay here in the office. I don't want to leave my work here." Her tone was assertive.

"Hija, I can't entrust her with anybody else but you. Kabisado mo na kasi lahat ng procedures dyan sa department mo." Her father's voice was unusually soft as if he's trying not to upset Bea.

"Who's this employee ba? Bakit kailangan ako pa yung sumama?" She asked, annoyance evident in her voice.

"You met her right? Jhoana, John's daughter?"

When she heard Jhoana's name, the tension in her body vanished. She didn't know how to take back what she said so she pretended to have calmed down and reconsider the task.

"I-i'll think about it again dad and I'll tell Deanna to call you after I decided," Bea hesitantly answered.

"Okay," her father sighed. "I'm hoping you'll agree. John is a really good friend of mine Beatriz. I just wan-"
