"We stood there, looking at each other, saying nothing. But it was the kind of nothing that meant everything."

"And perhaps one day we will learn
the difference between the want and the
need of another person. Perhaps one
day, you will walk back into my life
because you need to and not because I want you to."

"Hi Jho," Bea greeted, flashing her usual crooked smile.

It was followed by a frown when she noticed Jhoana just staring at her.

"Uy? Okay ka lang?"

Jhoana instantly snapped. "A-ah ako ba?" She pointed to herself.

She chuckled softly. "May iba pa bang Jho dito?"

"Loko. Sabi ko nga ako."

Jho craned her neck and saw her father holding the room keys. She excused herself and asked for hers. Before it was handed, her father spoke a few words.

"Since this is like a joint family trip, gusto ko maging close kayo ni Bea. Marami siyang matutulong sa gusto mong gawin because she has the connections you would need. Kaya I got a room for two para naman makapag-usap kayo."

Oh great.

She went back to Bea, who was busy playing with her phone. "Roommates daw tayo. I'm sorry, idea to ng dad ko."

Bea eyes beamed. Although she wanted to forget about Jho, the world seemed to be conspiring against it cause she would always be brought back to her in some weird way.

Bahala na kung masaktan. Minsan lang to. She rationalized.

"Sus, okay lang." She leaned her head towards Jho's ear. "Para namang di tayo nagsama sa isang kwarto dati. Naaalala mo pa naman yung mga-"

"Beatriz!" She was slapped on the arm.

She laughed heartily. She missed the old them – when things weren't that complicated, when they were just enjoying each other's company.

"Totoo naman ah. Hindi ba?" She teased.

She saw Jho's cheeks reddening before the latter turned her back. "Ewan ko sayo! Mauna na nga ako."

She shook her head in amusement. "Okay na siguro yung ganito. As long as we're friends, I guess I'm going to be fine," she whispered.

Everyone was called to eat lunch. All eyes were on them because they took a while joining their families plus they were caught happily conversing as they walked in the restaurant.

"Close na pala kayo Bey eh," Loel remarked, a smirk forming on his lips afterwards.

"We talked for a bit, kuya. We clicked agad."

"That's good to know. Sabi ng dad niya wala raw yang kaibigan eh. It's not that she doesn't know how to make friends, ayaw niya lang talaga."
