"A sea of whiskey couldn't intoxicate me as much as a drop of you." -js parker
Bea excitedly jumped out of her bed and fixed herself for work.
"It's Jho's first day today. And the answer..." she thought quietly while drumming her fingers on the steering wheel.
As usual she was holding her favorite iced coffee but something was new, Bea was energetic and at the same time fidgety. She passed by Deanna's table and gave her a big smile.
"Wow! Ganda ng gising natin Miss Bea ah? Konti na lang iisipin ko na in love ka na." she remarked jokingly as she turned her head back to the monitor.
Bea rolled her eyes and chuckled. "Don't even mention being in love. That's not my thing Deans. You're very aware of that diba?"
She shakes her head in response. Deanna had the first hand experience of Bea's girls barging into her office because they were left hanging. Bea was not afraid of them; instead, she would even invite them inside her and settle the issue. In the end, Bea would walk out of building triumphant as she escapes another tragedy that involved love and commitment. Deanna would often wonder who would capture her boss' heart.
Bea left to check her schedule placed neatly at her desk. Three meetings today and then she's out although there's a presentation she has to prepare for the following day.
As the silence was slowly creeping into Bea's senses, she felt anxious in her seat. She couldn't wait for Jho's answer but she was also terrified of what she might say. To relieve her stress, she decided to leave Jho a message.
To: Jhoana Maraguinot
Hey! How was your first day at work? 😁
She immediately deleted the words and thought of a much casual approach since she didn't want to sound too needy or too happy - or anything that is too much.
To: Jhoana Maraguinot
Dinner after work? Let's talk things through, if that's okay with you.
She hit send and let her head rest on her palms while she stares blankly at her laptop, completely distracted and unable to continue doing what should be done.
She instantly snapped out when she felt her phone buzz.
From: Jhoana Maraguinot
For a boss, you are a very bad influence MISS Bea. Stop texting during work hours!
Sure. Text me the details DURING lunch.
Bea couldn't help but grin to Jho's choice of words.
"You and your smart mouth Jhoana." she thought while sighing.

Jho declined Bea's offer to ride with her even though she didn't bring her car today. She wasn't just feeling it because every time she does, her father insists on hiring a driver for her - an idea she totally opposed.
"Hey," she greeted Bea with kiss on the cheek that made the other flinch in surprise.
Jho sits carefully then busied herself reading the menu. "What are you getting Bey?"
Bea, stunned by the unexpected gesture, was unable to answer.
"What's with you?"
"Me?" Bea points to herself then shakes her head. "Nothing. Just thinking about stuff."
Bea pretends to look through the menu but she already knew what she was getting even before she stepped inside the restaurant.
"Hmmm. I think I'm getting the Black Angus Fillet Mignon Steak. How about you?"
