"I want a second chance at falling in love with you for the first time."
She loves me?
Disbelief was all over her face. It's impossible. Jhoana had been leading her on by giving out mixed signals like clutching her neck to deepen their kisses, acting like a jealous girlfriend when she's out with other girls and doing things that an ordinary friend would not do.
"Seryoso ka?" Her mouth remained open.
Jho rolled her eyes. If Bea had counted it correctly she must have done that for more than a hundred times since the day they met.
"Panira ka." Jho lightly punched her on the chest. "Oo nga, I love you."
A sweet smile slowly crept on Bea's lips as the events have finally sunk in. She loves me.
"You're not afraid anymore?"
In all honesty, Jho was about to have an anxiety attack because she had did not utter those words to anyone for the longest time.
She avoidEd Bea's intense gaze. "I am. I really am."
"Why are you saying this to me?"
"Cause I can't bear to see you happy with another girl. I can't take the thought of you loving someone else. Gusto ko ako. Gusto ko tayo lang kahit takot na takot ako," she explained sincerely.
Her lips were trembling as her chest contracted, making it difficult to breathe. These types of confrontations were the ones she evaded ever since, but now she has to face it and brace herself for what's to come.
Bea was just staring at her and that made her even more antsy.
"Magsalita ka naman." Her statement sounded like a pleading.
Bea laughed and that made Jho snap. "What's funny? For your information, I have never done this in my whole life-"
Her words were held beneath Bea's lips as she was caught off guard. After a few seconds, Bea pulled away.
"You're really a talker, huh? I thought it was only me."
"Ikaw ta-"
She was again silenced by Bea's luscious lips and the embarrassment she felt a after confessing instantly vanished. She couldn't help but smile as she responded to the taller girl's sweet kisses.
"Another word from you and I'll kiss you again. Let me speak."
She let out a sigh, surrendering to Bea's authority then smiled at her. It was the cue of the latter to speak.
"I think this is the happiest day of my life. The tables have turned when I was finally giving up. I failed to move on from you so many times, but here you are. Oh, Jhoana, here you are."
Bea chuckled and cupped both of her cheeks. "I was only successful in forgetting you pero andito ka pa rin."
She points her index finger to her heart, her eyes twinkling in bliss.
"I thought that moving on from you would make me happy, but hey it's not the first time I'm wrong."
She gradually closed the gap between them, their foreheads were slightly touching.
