84. Kiss Me

i want you to kiss me
but don't do it simply,

i want you to feel that rush when our lips touch of this-has-to-be-a-secret-we-keep-tucked-away-until-it's-okay-not-to-care-if-someone-sees-us-together-but-it's-too-perfect-for-me-to-want-to-stop-right-now feeling,
that i-of-all-people-just-got-to-kiss-you feeling, that i-never-thought-my-lips-would-ever-be-pressed-to-yours-so-sweetly feeling that still awes me to this day.

i want your hands to shake like the first time i let you touch me with that pent up anticipation of i've-never-yearned-for-someone-more feeling, that oh-my-god-this-is-happening-please-don't-let-me-regret-this-later feeling, that your-hands-on-me-is-the-closest-to-heaven-as-i'll-ever-be feeling which took my breath away.

i want your confidence to soar like the first time your name fell from my lips with a gasp of a whisper so soft it was a prayer, so impure with all our sin i couldn't think straight,
so we can return to that my-name-has-never-sounded-more-perfect-than-when-you're-saying-it feeling, that your-voice-brings-me-to-my-knees feeling that has my heart racing.

i want your eyes to look at me the way they did after i let the curtain fall and told you "baby i love you too" even though i was scared to admit it, tear stains have never been so beautiful to me and i don't regret a single thing we did that night please remember that

i want you to feel the way my heart swelled when you told me you were falling in love with me, to share this never-let-me-go-even-though-i-know-this-is-only-temporary-and-you'll-break-my-heart-one-day-but-for-now-i'll-just-ignore-the-inevitable feeling, this your-eyes-are-the-only-ones-i-want-to-get-lost-in-and-your-lips-taste-so-sweet-i'm-swooning-and-your-hands-feel-like-absolute-fucking-heaven-on-me feeling, this i'm-ready-to-admit-it-i'm-in-love-with-you-too feeling.

but now i just want you to kiss me,
even if it's only simply
because i need something from you
to show you remember
when you said you loved me too
