"Mystery"
-
There are many things outside of my understanding
Mysteries laid to rest in dust beside a lack of clues
Every question that left me unable to provide an answer
So much is left unsolved
Nobody could ever hold all the world's solutions in their palms
But of all the things that perplex my simple mind
You are the most confusing
The most intriguing
Because your motives sit resting in the shadows
Of every lie you told me
I can no longer differentiate between your falsities
And your truths
-
When we speak I stand unsure of what to say
How do I converse with your lips that had kissed her
The same day you made me feel beautiful
Maybe those smiles you send me
That are as bright as the constellations we both adored
Didn't mean "I will care for you"
But instead spoke the warning "I will shatter your fragile trust"
I was never good at reading signs
Misinterpreting had never cost me this much before
-
If you never truly cared for me
Why would you lead me on
I thought it was subconscious at first
Maybe holding hands was your way of saying hello
But you were vividly aware of every wave of emotions you were drowning me in
Don't tell me you were just being friendlyFriends don't kiss the way we do
Or should I say say, the way we did
Are you simply afraid or was I merely a source of amusement
I guess I'll just have to add it to my list of unanswered questions
You never answered truthfully anyways

A boy made of moondust
Confined only by a running imagination that drifted past the limits of the Milky Way
The most troubling mystery on my mind
Is where did he go
Where is the boy who said my eyes reminded him of midnight darkness allowing stars to glow
I've spent hours analyzing old messages
Trying to find the date he disappeared
Where did constellations fade into stone cold stares
You loved me like you loved the skies
But when your interstellar interest diedWas your love for me buried with it
My moondust boy, you left so many questions unanswered
A cloud of confusion blocking my eyes
From seeing the person you became
You are the biggest mystery I could never solve
