Dan had gone home after his carpet nap, but not before he and Charlie exchanged numbers, due to Charlie's insistence.
On top of that, the man had asked to go with Dan to make sure he got home safely, but Dan managed to win the battle and take the bus.
He took his Wii remote and put in his new Mario Kart game deciding to play, but as soon as he got into the game he heard his phone buzz.
He grabs it and opens the message immediately, instinctively expecting a text from Phil.
Disappointment overwhelms him as the contact name reads Charlie.
Charlie: Hey
Dan: Hi
Dan didn't want to leave him on read, but he didn't want to text him either.
About three hours later, Dan is sitting in the same exact spot , replaying Mario Galaxy 2. He hadn't checked him phone at all. In fact, he had turned off vibrations and ringtones completely.
Dan grumbled, throwing the controller down as he found himself stuck in a game he has already completed previously. He decided to take a break, picking up his phone and sipping some slightly cool tea he had made.
Charlie: What are you up to?
Charlie: Hello?
Charlie: Answer me.
Charlie: What's your address?
Charlie: If you don't answer me, I'm just going to look it up.
Charlie: I'm on my way.
Surely Charlie didn't actually find my address, Dan thought. Within seconds though, there was a loud knock at his door making Dan jump.
When he opened the door, Charlie stood worriedly. Concern worn like a mask on his face, yet Dan still felt as though anger was burning through that mask, and it scared him,but he would never say that, it could hurt Charlie's feelings. He only seemed to be trying to help.
So Dan invited him in.
