Making Friends

Garnets' phone rang in her jacket pocket as she got ready for another day at school, she answered it as soon as she put it on. "Hello?" "Um...Garnet?" "Oh, hey Pearl anything you need?" "I..need a ride to school...b-but if that's to much trouble you don't have to!" "Its fine Pearl let me get dressed I'm on the way." "Thank you!" She hung up and grabbed her bag as she headed outside. "Have a good day Sweetie." "No promises." Garnet stepped out and walked to her purple and blue looking mustang getting in as she messed with her hair. "Another day at Diamond High." She started the car and drove off to Pearls house. She felt her pocket buzz and checked her phone.

"1230 Beach city Ave."

"An address! Its like she knew I needed it...I did." Garnet laughed at herself a bit and turned down Pearls street pulling up in her driveway. "This is where she lives?" Garnet looked up at the mansion looking house and sat back in her seat. "And she gets picked on?" She watched as Pearl came out and waved at her as she headed toward the car. "Now I have to know what happened." Pearl got in and buckled up quietly but with a smile. "Hello Garnet." Garnet pulled off and started driving to the school. "Hey Pearl how's it going?" "I'm alive so I guess good." "So that's your house?" Garnet asked staring at the road. "Yes." "Do you live alone?" "No, me and my sister Opal live together." "So its your sisters house?" "No it was our mother's." "Was?" Garnet said looking at Pearl, she saw how she shrunk a little in her seat then quickly looked back at the road. "Sorry for all the questions, I just wanted to know why you of all people are getting picked on." "Because I used to follow Kyanite all around and do everything for her. But then I stopped because she was literally slaving me around." "So she got angry about that and started telling everyone to pick on you and call you servant?" "Yea." "Well don't worry! when you're around me you won't be anyone less, you're an equal just like me." Garnet said with a smile.
        They pulled up to the school and got out of the car quietly until they heard a car screech. "Ah!" Garnet looked over at Pearl and saw her almost get pinned into the wall with Kyanites car. "What's wrong with you!?" Garnet said stomping over to Kyanite. "She was in my way." "You could've killed her!" "So. Not like anyone's gonna miss her." "Oooohhhh!!" Garnet glared at Amethyst and clenched her fist. "Oh I'm scared you have your fist all balled up." Kyanite said mockingly to Garnet. "I will-" 'RIIINNNGGGG' Garnet quickly looked up and grabbed Pearl running inside. "I'm not going to be late because of them." She said sliding into the classroom as Ms. Emerald was about to shut the door. "We're here!" She said setting Pearl down. Ms. Emerald looked at the two and shut the door. "Because it was a cool entrance I'll allow that." She heard loud banging on the door and looked at Kyanite, Amethyst, and Jasper angrily. "Go to detention!" They all glared inside and saw Garnet smirk then walked away full of anger. "Resume your group work today." She said sitting down. "What were you going to say Garnet?" Garnet looked at Pearl and shook her head. "Nothing...just something stupid out of anger." "You seem to never really even get angry." "You don't want to see it." Garnet said starting to write about the project. "We can get this done today if you want to just relax later on down the week." "That sounds nice." Pearl said looking at the paper so she could help out.
     Garnet and Pearl sat in their classes talking which felt like forever until the last bell rang. "Time to go already?" Pearl said walking out with Garnet. "Seems like it." "Are you doing anything this weekend?" "Not really probably just going to stay home like I always do." Garnet said with a slight chuckle. Garnets smile faded away when she saw her car window busted out and Kyanite standing next to it with a pipe. "Sorry, it slipped." She said throwing it down laughing. "You!!" Pearl watched as Garnets dark skin started turning red a bit and held onto her books tightly. "What are you going to do about it?" Garnet walked up to Kyanite and slightly looked down at her. "You did this to my car!?" "I said it slipp-" Garnet socked Kyanite in the face making her feet slip from under her. She dropped on her back and held her face for a second, she turned over and grabbed the pipe as she got up. "Get up Kyanite!" Jasper said in their car. Kyanite swung and hit Garnets face with all of her might making a loud 'CRACK!!' Noise. Garnet grabbed her face and stumbled into her car door. "Garnet!" Pearl said running over to her. "Garnet are you OK!?" "Come on Kyanite let's go!" Kyanite stood there for a second then dropped the pipe as she ran to the car and left. "Garnet answer me." Pearl said touching her shoulder. Garnet pushed Pearls hand away and slowly got in the car holding her jaw. Pearl got in and shrunk in her seat when she watched Garnet move her hand from her split open jaw. "I can patch that up for you..." Garnet started the car and drove off still quiet. "I'm sorry Garnet." "You have no need to be sorry Pearl you didn't do it." Pearl saw the strength it took to talk and shook her head. "Stop talking you'll make it worse.." Garnet pulled up in Pearls driveway and got rushed inside by Pearl. "Opal!" "Yes?" "I need your help! And hurry!!" Pearl sat Garnet down in their living room and sprinted off towards the bathroom. "What is it Pearl?" Opal said putting her long hair into a pony tail. "Oh my god!" She said looking at Garnet. "Your jaw!" She sat beside her and lightly touched her face. "What happened?" "Kyanite." Pearl said walking back with peroxide and bandages. "She did this to you!?" Garnet nodded her head then jumped up a bit when Pearl put the wet rag on her burning face. "You're the new student at Diamond High right?" "Yes." Garnet said hurting. "You must've stood up to her for Pearl." "She did...this is my fault Opal she wouldn't be hurt if it weren't for me." Pearl put bandages on the split wound and sighed. "You have one strong jaw I'll give you that. Was it a punch?" "No, it was a pipe." Opal let go of Garnets face and sat back with shock in her face. "And you only have a split jaw? You really do have a strong jaw.." Garnet got up rubbing her face and smiled at Pearl and Opal. "Thank you so much for helping me. But I have to get home before my mom freaks." "We'll see you later Garnet, I'm also sorry that this happened to you." "You have no need to be sorry." Garnet left the beautiful looking house and got in her car driving home. "I almost lost it.." She said shaking her head. She pulled up in the driveway and looked at the red truck. "Moms here! Finally!" She bursted in the door and ran into the living room with both of her parents sitting in there talking. "Your back!" She hugged her strong looking mom and held her there for a while. "I wasn't even gone that long." "She knows that Ruby, but every time you leave you take at least a day to get back." "Well if it makes you two feel better I took a vacation." "You did!?" Garnet Said hugging Ruby even tighter. "Sapphire she's going to break my back!" Sapphire lightly tapped Garnet and lost her smile when she saw the bandage on her face. "What happened to you?" "Oh! I-i just slipped in the hallway and busted the side of my jaw when I did.." "Don't lie to your mother Garnet." Garnet looked at Ruby as she crossed her arms and sighed. "A fight.." "A fight!?" Sapphire said covering her mouth. "Did you win!?" Ruby said. "If she would've won she wouldn't be looking like that!" "It could just be a simple battle scar!" "Ruby!" "Sapphire!" "Garnet! Is going up stairs to sleep." Garnet said slowly heading up stairs. "This isn't over young lady!" Sapphire said sternly behind her. "Sadly I know." Garnet closed her door and plopped on the bed with a sigh. "I hate school so much."
