I feel like such a bitch for making you guys wait this long again. :/
Sorry, guys. It's up now. Don't hate me.
CHAPTER THIRTY!! :D
---Luke's POV---
I took a slow, deep breath and opened my eyes to the most beautiful sight I could ever see.
Lydia was laying on my chest, but she was sobbing, tears soaking my shirt.
"Lydia," I said her name softly.
Her head jerked up to look at me and she gasped.
"You're really alive!" she exclaimed, to which she attacked me in a giant hug.
I wrapped my arms around her, my arms! I was myself again!
I felt like jumping around like an idiot and screaming, in my own voice!
"Lydia," I said, to which she looked at me. "I love you."
And with that, I kissed her.
The kiss was everything we had waited for. Sparks flew, butterflies flittered, and I felt tingles not just throughout my whole body, but I could feel them in my soul.
Which was when I realized what had really happened with Nikki and I.
Having been so long in each others bodies, our bodies didn't want to let go of the soul that was trapped inside it. So, we had to practically die to get them to let go. But we didn't really die...at least I think we didn't. We just kind of went into a "dormant state".
My mind refocused on Lydia and her lips on mine, her body on mine, her skin pressed to mine. I loved this girl. From the tips of my hair down to the very bottom of my feet, and every single atom in between. She was the girl I had been waiting for, the only girl with the power to keep my heart. And I didn't want it back, because I had hers instead.
Someone cleared their throat, shocking us apart. And we looked up to find Ashton and Calum looking as shocked as we were, but also looking a bit grossed out. I glanced over to see that Nikki and Michael were positioned in a way that we knew they were in a fierce face battle.
"You guys are alive?" Calum said, in disbelief.
I didn't know what to say, so I looked at Nikki.
"Yeah. I don't think we really died..." she trailed a bit. "It was like we couldn't get free and we had to let go so our souls would switch back to the right body." She looked at me and I gave her a nod.
"It was painful, but yeah, that's what I felt happen," I added.
Calum suddenly ran at me and pulled me into a giant hug.
"I thought we lost you forever, mate. Don't do that again. You're my best friend. I can't lose you," he declared, starting to cry. I made sure Lydia didn't get mauled by his attack before wrapping my arms around him.
"I don't plan on going anywhere, Cal. I don't want to die any time soon. And same with you, mate. You're my best friend. I could never lose you."
Ashton joined our hug and so did Lydia, Michael, and Nikki. Soon, we were all crying, but this time it was because of happiness, not because of death.
"I love you guys," Ashton said, to which Michael, Calum and I answered with "we love you, too."
We broke apart a few minutes later and the couples sat together in different parts of the room. None of us wanted to leave the others alone in case something else happened.
