"Alex!" Titia calls.
He sees us and walks towards us.
Titia hugs him.
"Hello birthday boy," I say as she hugs him.
He lets go of Titia and hugs me.
I give him a slight kiss on the cheek.
"Whats up?" He asks.
"Nothing much," I reply pulling away from the hug and handing him the present.
"Hope you like it," I say.
"Thanks, go on in and I'll come in a couple minutes," he says.
Titia hands him her gift and he gives her another hug and thanks her.
We go towards the bar and get a drink.
We stand by the bar and start saying hi to the people we know. Most of them are from our school and some of the other ones are from different schools.
"Hey! Araina!" Someone calls. I turn around to see Cara standing a couple feet away.
"Hey!" me and Titia say at the same time. We hug her and her friends which we know.
"I didn't think you would come," Titia says,"I mean after you two, you know."
"No, no, we're still friends. Besides I'm over him. It just wasn't meant to be," Cara says smiling.
"Araina!" I hear Molly call.
"Molly," I say finding her.
We hug and she hugs everyone else around us. We all know each other.
They get drinks and we walk toward the beach.
We spot Gabby and Patricia and Alexis. They join us and we sit on the beach and talk a bit.
"So, did you call him?" Gabby whispers into my ear.
I shoot her a bad look and continue talking with the others. I hear her snicker and I just want to slap her.
Alex comes over to us with some of his friends.
"We're going to cut the cake," Alex says. We all stand up and follow him towards the table near the bar.
We sing him a happy birthday song.
"1,2,3!" his girlfriend calls. He blows the cake and then they share a kiss.
Than the real party starts.
"One of the greatest bands that I have ever heard of, gave me the honor of coming to my party and singing a quick song for us. Please welcome Five Seconds of Summer!" Alex exclaims pointing to the opposite direction of where everyone is looking.
I turn around to see them on the beach. Luke, Michael and Calum have guitars and Ashton is behind the drums.
They start playing a song I am not familiar to.
"You call me up, it's like a broken record, saying that your heart hurts and that your never getting over hime getting over you," they sing.
I really cant hear the rest of the song because everyone starts cheering and dancing.
I feel my head dizzy. I try to get a closer look at them but there's no way. When the song finishes I can tell that they are coming off the stage.
Everyone claps for them and they come down.
Then a DJ comes on the stage and starts playing a song. Chaos begins.
They turn off the beach lights and turn on a disco ball attached to a pole. Everyone starts dancing.
I start dancing with Alex first and than with Mayra. I dance to a couple songs before I get tired and go to get some water. I feel someone touch my shoulder. I turn around in surprise.
"Araina," Luke says with a smile.
"Luke," I say pulling a strand of my hair behind my ear.
"May I?" He asks pointing towards the dance floor. I take his hand and we drift towards the floor and dance.
It's playing 'Burn' by Ellie Goulding.
We dance till we both get tired and laughingly go towards the bar to sit for a couple minutes. We get drinks and sit down.
"I had no idea you would be here," he says.
"Yeah, me neither," I say.
Then I remember I have to get my revenge on him. I think for a couple seconds and know exactly what to do.
"Luke?" I ask.
"Yeah?" He asks.
"Can I have a hug?" I question with the saddest face I can make.
He doesn't say anything but just stands up and opens his arms with a huge 'um yea sure why not' face.
I hug him tightly and slowly slip my hand into his pocket.
I take his phone and quickly pull away from the hug.
"Hey!" He calls.
I take my drink and dangle his phone above it.
"Revenge for what you did in the pool,"I say laughing and slowly backing away.
"No! Please! Not with the phone!" He says. But I'm not listening to him. I put the drink down and run.
I feel he is running after me but I dont give in.
Finally when we reach a place near the shore where there isn't many people, I turn around. He stops running and folds his arms looking straight into my eyes and smiling.
He is not angry.
"I'm really tempted to drop it in the water you know," I say laughing like an idiot.
