Chapter 27

"Alec?" I answer shocked

"What are you doing here?" He asks coming up from fixing his car and to me. May I mention he has a screwdriver in his hand?

"I...I came.... I came to...." I cant finish my sentence.

Who is he? What is he doing here? Why am I talking to him?

"Why did you come to my house?" Alec asks yet again.

Wait what? His house?

"What do you mean?" I ask.

He brings the screwdriver up.

"What the hell are you doing at my house?" He asks yet again.

"Luke!" Araina says coming out of the house and waving at me. Alec brings the screwdriver down and looks at her in shock.

"Wait? What?" Alec says.

Araina comes up to us. She is wearing a loose black top with neon green shorts and black sneakers.

"So Alec, my dear brother? You finally met my boyfriend," Araina says with a cheeky grin.

"Araina! You forgot your phone!" Araina's moms voice calls from inside.

She leaves me and Alec standing there looking at each other.
I can't get the words she just said out of my head. Her brother?

"So, your her boyfriend?" Alec asks.

"And your her brother?" I question back.

He brings the screwdriver up again, and points it to me.

"I swear if Nick set you up to break her again, or shit like that..." Alec starts.

Than it hits me. Araina is Nick's ex. And Alec came to beat Nick up because he broke up with her and left her.

"I didn't know that she's... She's Nick's ex. I really didn't!" I protest.

"How many people's names are Araina in this city?" Alec says.

His voice literally sounds like he could kill me if he wanted to. I had to seperate them in the fight. I later learnt that Nick and Alec had actually hung out a couple of times, and were friends.

"I didn't know that his ex's name is Araina! He never told me!" I protest again.

Araina comes out of the house with a bright smile.

"So? You two met?" She asks.

She suddenly sees the screwdriver pointed at me and looks concerned.

"Alec? What is that?" She questions pointing to the screwdriver.

"Oh this? Just some brotherly protection and threatening," Alec smirks.

"Okay than, come on. Let's go, unless you two want to talk some more," Araina laughs.

"You go on in. I just have some more things to tell your boyfriend," Alec points tot he car.

Araina shrugs and goes inside the car.

"Look Luke, if you have any intentions of breaking her, or doing anything stupid, I'm not going to just beat you up, I will kill you," He threatens.

"I'm not playing with her!" I almost shout.

"I'm gonna take your word for not knowing, but just cause of that night. Understood?" Alec says referring to the night I separated them.

"Alec I didn't know. I really didn't. I... Now how do I tell her?" I say suddenly aware of the fact.

"Don't tell her. I won't spill it either, just don't you dare break her heart," Alec says

I feel so relieved. I get back into the car and quickly make sure that her hands entwine with mine.

Her hands give me comfort and I feel relaxed again. But should I tell her? It's not that important, is it?

We wave goodbye to Alec and drive towards the restaurant I reserved.

"Where are we going?" She asks as we reach near the restaurant.

"I reserved an Italien place," I answer.

She forces her hand out of mine and starts doing stuff on her phone. Why is she being so cold with me?

We reach the restaurant and get off. I say my name and they lead us into the outdoor of a restaurant on a table for two. I pull the chair out for her but she sits down on the other one.

Feeling failed, I sit on the chair I just pulled out and sigh.

She starts playing on her phone again.

"Can we talk?" I finally ask.

"Yeah," she replies but she is still concentrated on her phone.

Is this like a new way of ignoring?

"Look I'm sorry okay? I really didn't want to be all mad, but I don't like it when people tell me what to do. Especially when it's about you," I say.

She doesn't even look up.

"Araina!" I whisper shout.

She still doesnt look up but continues to text someone, I can tell by the rapid motion of her hands.

What if she hates me now? What if she's texting another guy? The thoughts go through my head like the fireworks on New Years eve.

I stare into her eyes, although she's not looking at me.

"Fine! You win! Just please don't ignore me," I say giving it my all.

As stubborn as she is, she does not look up. I take out my phone and tweet:

'How do you get someone to stop ignoring you?'

I get a whole bunch of replies like:

'Say sorry!'

'Awww Lukey! Whose ignoring you?'

'Tell me who it is and I will chop off their head off!!!!??!?!'

'Hahahah Luke and his tweets, you just got to love em'

I put my phone away and notice that she puts her head up for a second and glares at me.

"What?" I innocently ask.

She doesnt reply but gets back to what she was doing.

Great, our first fight since we dated.

We order food and eat, while Araina continues to ignore me.

Till when? I have no idea.
