Araina's POV:
I walk out of the restaurant which I was in with my friends.
After saying good-bye to them, I go back home and upstairs to take a shower.
When I am done I come out and open my closet.
I search through it until I finally find the perfect clothes. A dark red oversized, long sleeve cotton shirt.
I match it with a pair of washed-out jeans and my black and red, polka dot flats.
I dry my hair and brush it. I gently fishtail braid it onto my left side and apply my make-up on.
I hear my phone ringing and pick it up to see it's Titia.
"Hello?" I answer.
"Araina? Is Alec home?" She asks.
"Yeah, why?" I question.
"I need to come and ask something from him, bye." She says and hangs up.
I learnt two weeks ago that Titia and Calum were never together, and that their whole plan was to get me and Luke together. From the day at McDonalds.
Luke had told Calum he likes me(from when? I wish I knew), so while me and Luke were busy, they had made a plan to have us date.
I put my phone in my pocket and go downstairs.
"Alec?" I call.
"Yeah?" He answers from the living room.
I walk up to the couch which he is sitting on and texting his girlfriend Claire probably.
"Titia called and asked if you're home. She wants to tell you something," I exclaim.
"I'm going out, in ten minutes," he says.
"So your not here for tonight?" I ask disappointed.
"No, what's happening tonight?" He asks.
"Luke is coming over," I answer.
"Oh, well I can meet him some other time," He exclaims.
I roll my eyes as the door bell rings.
I go and open the door to see, unsurprisingly, Titia.
"Come on in," I say.
She smile and comes in. She is wearing her nerd glasses, which only means one thing. She's here to talk with Alec about college applications and stuff.
She walks over to the living room and I hear them start talking.
I go outside and into our front porch.
I feel so happy, and good that I decide to take a selfie. I post it on Instagram.
Just 10 seconds later, I get a DM from @luke_is_a_penguin
Its the picture I posted and a caption:
You look beautiful :*
I smile at it and call him.
"Hey beautiful," he says when I answer.
"Hey. Whats up?" I ask.
"Nothing much, I'm at Ash's. You?" He questions.
"Sitting around being bored," I answer.
"Aww, I'd come sooner, but it might be disrespectful to your parents. I miss you," he says in that low mumbly voice.
"I miss you too, but like we're only ten minutes away right now," I laugh.
"Araina, I love you," he says.
What? No don't get me wrong! It's not like I don't want him to say that. It's just that the way he said it, is as if like he's not ever going to talk to me again.
"Luke? Is everything alright?" I ask.
"Yeah, fine. Everything's fine," he says.
"Okay... I hope so," I answer.
"You never said it back," he points out.
"Said what back?" I tease.
"Araina?" He laughs in a playful voice.
"Fine. I love you too," I admit.
"But I love you more," he says.
"No! No! I do!" I mumble back.
"No way, I love you more," he says.
"I love you more and that's the end of it!" I say.
"Nope, I do," he says.
"You can say what you want but I love you more. Wait my mom's home. I have to go. See you soon," I say seeing my mom drive up.
"Okay bye bye," he says and I hang up.
"Oh oh, Araina's all dressed up for her boyfriend," my mom says as she comes up to me with grocery bags.
I grab the groceries from her.
"Mom!" I protest.
She laughs and we go inside. My mom says hi to Titia and Alec.
I place the groceries in the fridge and my mom starts making some dinner.
I help her make the lasagna and cut cucumbers and lettuce for the salad.
"Araina!" I hear Titia call.
"Yeah?" I answer drying my hands with a towel.
"I'm leaving. Have fun," she says as she comes in the kitchen and winks. She hugs me and i give her a kiss on the cheek.
"Bye Mrs.Reid," she says and leaves.
"Mom! I'm going, bye!" Alec calls.
"Where?" My mom asks.
"Out, I'll be back late, and no I have to go. Don't even try to make me stay, I had this planned two days ago," Alec says back.
"Pff," I say.
My mom comes to me and holds my hand.
"Araina, I'm so glad that you got over Nick," she says with her usual warm smile.
I smile back at her.
