we raced up the stairs and I ended up beating Layne up the stairs and Mom was waiting on us.
"mom, you met Layne. he'll be joining us for dinner."
mom nodded and with a bright warm and loving smile, put another plate on the table. I sat down with Layne by my side and mom filled out plates and brought out lemonade, which is just what we need for a hot summer afternoon. Mom sat and ate with us as we listened to layne. Layne finished his plate before mom or I did and he kept saying:
"man, i might eat here every night!"
I laughed at him for what felt like eternity. once we had full tummies, Layne and I headed back downstairs, racing again, and laid on my bed.
"wanna watch T.V?"
"sure."
I flipped through the list and was thinking about the bachelor, but found Spongebob, and turned it on.
I cuddled up next to layne and pulled the furry white comforter onto my shoulders as I lean against Layne and his arm wrapped around me.
I felt him play with my hair as I fell in to a heavy sleep.
