"Couldn't be better"

The most beautiful smile I have ever seen spread across her face.

"Charles! Are you serious?"

"Yes, Talia"

She covered her mouth with her hands and did a few jumps. I laughed at her child-like manner.

"Thank you!" She shouted. She jumped up once more and practically threw herself into my embrace. She wrapped her arms around the back of my neck as I wrapped mine around her waist. She was still laughing and thanking me.

"Your welcome Talia!" I replied, pulling away from her.

"When can I start?" She questioned

"Whenever you want!"

"Now!"

"Okay. I'll show you to your office" I said, opening my office door.

We made our way silently towards her office as she smiled at my co-workers.

"Here" I said, pointing towards a door to her left. She grabbed the handle with anticipation and swung the door open. The room was simpler than mine, but nicer than the others. She had a nice window that pointed out onto the complex along with shelves in the wall and a chair and desk.

"Thank you Charles!" She giggled.

"Oh by the way," She looked at me with her big eyes.

"Jason will be coming by later and a boy with him. If they arrive while I'm away, send them to my private meeting room two please"

"Of course, anything else?" She replied with a smile.

"My friend Gwen might stop by. I would deeply respect it if you didn't tell her that we live together"

"Wait," She said, standing up and closing her door.

"I live with you now?"

"You have somewhere better?"

"No, but -"

"Talia, I won't hurt you. I can keep you safe. Provide food. Water. Warmth. Anything..." I trailed off, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear.

"Charles..."

"Promise me! Hush hush about your living arrangements!"

"What are you on about Mr Lorenzo? I don't live with you" She teased me with a wink.

"Oh my god! Your gonna be a handful!"

I laughed as I closed her door and made* my way back to my office.
