Seeing him again

*2 years later (15 years old)
*on the phone with Shawn
"Shawn I don't think I can do this" you say into the phone. "Y/n baby" he says. "Shawn your career has just rocketed and it's only going to get bigger. It's going to get harder for us to stay together, you'll be gone more and if I can't handle it now, how will I be able to later?" You say.
He becomes silent on the other side of the phone. "I-I don't want to" he says. Tears start forming in your eyes. "It's for the best" you say quietly. "I love you" Shawn says. "I love you too" you say. "Bye" he hangs up.
You put your phone down on your kitchen counter. You fall to ground and break down crying. It hurts so bad but it was for the best. You wish it didn't have to end this way but it did.

*2 years later (17 years old) present day
You are driving to your job and listening to the radio. "And the next song I'm about to play is by a fellow Canadian, this is 'Treat you better' by Shawn Mendes" the radio guy says. You turn off the radio.
You walk into your job at a Willie's Waffle House. "Hey Y/n" Sarah (from kindergarten) your best friend and coworker says, as you walk in. "Morning Sarah" you say. "Did you hear the news?" She asks excitedly.
You shake your head. "Shawn is coming back to Toronto tomorrow" she says. You stop and look at her. "What" you say. "Yeah, he's coming to the local radio station and is having a private show with a meet and greet" she says.
"Don't tell me, you got us tickets" you say. "Then I'd be lying to you" Sarah says. "Well that's just great, my famous ex boyfriend is coming which I haven't seen or talked to in two years and I'm going to his private concert" you say.
"Y/n you're going to that concert, if you want to or not" Sarah says. You sigh. "Fine" you mumble.
*next day
You, Sarah and Isaac (also from kindergarten) drive to the radio station. "I'm so excited to see Shawn again" Sarah says excitedly. "Yeah me too, what about you Y/n?" Isaac asks.
"Oh I'm sooo excited" you say sarcastically. "Come on Y/n cheer up" Isaac says. You sigh. "Okay" you say. Isaac parks the car in front and the three of you walk inside.
You find seats close to the stage and wait for Shawn to come out.
"Nervous?" Sarah asks. "Wouldn't you be if you saw your ex boyfriend after two years of not talking?" You ask. She nods. "Very nervous" you reply.
"It's going to be fine" she says. "Hello may I have your attention" a man from the radio station says. "I would like to introduce you the talented man himself, Shawn Mendes" the man says.
Shawn comes walking out and waves to a couple. Then you and him make eye contact.
