After school, Mark said his goodbyes to Sicheng and they parted ways, and Mark began heading to the ice cream meet up location.

Mark already knew something was up. He already knew that Jaehyun was an awful liar ever since they were kids, so the boy knew that his friend was setting something up at the ice cream parlor.

He slowly walked inside, holding onto his school back tightly. He looked around the small shop, seeing that Jaehyun was nowhere in sight. A sigh left Mark's lips.

"Hey, Mark!" Someone called, and Mark whipped his head to look at the cashier station. A boy that Mark knew as Jungkook was waving at him, and Mark smiled and waved back.

The blonde walked over to Jungkook, since no one was at the cashier currently, and smiled. "Have you seen Jaehyun?" He asked, looking around the store again.

Jungkook squinted, looking around as well. "No, I don't think so, wh-"

Jungkook was cut off by another boy's voice. "He came in and told us to sit you over there. He told me that's all I could say." A short, black haired male with a bored expression walked up behind Jungkook, pointing to a booth towards the corner of the building.

"He didn't tell me that, Suga." Jungkook pouted, placing his hands on the cold counter. The other boy; Suga, laughed and stumbled forward. Mark laughed a bit as well before he looked back at the table and approached it.

No one was sitting in the booth's seats, which made Mark feel awkward, as he was going to be sitting there by himself. At this point, he had not the slightest clue about what Jaehyun was up to.

He looked back at Jungkook and Suga, but they were back to doing their work, taking care of customers and cleaning messes. Mark let out another sigh as he placed his bag on the booth's seat and sat down, sliding over to the end so that he was by the window.

He sat in silence, looking out at the street and watching people walk by with their friends, lover, family, or just by themself. That is, until someone jumped up from under the table yelling,"How are you, Mark!?"

Mark's heart skipped a beat as he flinched amd jumped, hitting his knees on the table as he did so, shutting his eyes tightly. He almost cursed from the pain shooting through his knees, but he bit his bottom lip to stop himself from doing so.

When he opened his eyes slowly, moving his hands down to rub his hurting knees, he saw the person that he wanted to see the least.

Donghyuck. Of course.

"Man, did I scare you that bad?" The red head asked, moving to sit on the seat that was across from Mark, and leaning forward on the table, placing his elbows on the cream colored table and propping his head up on his hands.

Mark inhaled deeply, closing his eyes again. "Yes. Didn't you just hear my knees bang against the table?" He said as politely as possible, but a hint of irritation was in his voice. Haechan didn't seem to notice.

Donghyuck gave the older boy a weary smile, moving to lean back in his seat. "Agh, sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you." He chuckled.

Mark's eyes opened again to see a guilty expression on the boy's face, making him feel a bit bad, but he shook his head and sucked up the pain and crossed his arms over his chest. "Yeah, alright. Why are you here? I thought Jaehyun invited me." He changed the subject and rose an eyebrow, narrowing his eyes.

Donghyuck's face almost immediately brightened up again. Mark wondered how he could become so happy so easily.

"Ah, he did invite you! He also invited me!" Haechan clapped his hands together, fluttering his dark eyes. "He told me that he wanted us to have time to ourselves so that we can get to know each other, since we're new pals. I haven't talked to you as much as I have Jaehyun~" he cooed.

Mark gave him a crooked smile. He knew it. Jaehyun had set him up to meet Haechan. Why did he even bother coming here? How long did he have to be here? He didn't want to be rude and leave, but he didn't want to stay, either.

"Oh." Was all that Mark said, and he created an awkward silence until Haechan snapped his fingers.

"Ah! So, what should we talk about?" He asked. Before Mark could even open his mouth to answer, he snapped again, his eyes sparkling. "Can we tell each other secrets!?" He whisper shouted, his facial expression showing that he was very eager to do so.

Mark urked. "I barely met you, so I don't think I can tell you any secrets...sorry?" He shrugged his shoulders.

Haechan pouted, crossing his arms on the table and placed his head on the cold surface as well. "Please? I won't tell anyone. I'll tell you one of mine, too! It'll be like we're best friends already!"

Oh. Mark didn't want that at all, but he didn't want to see this boy look gloomy.

"I-I don't even really have any secrets. I don't know what to tell you." Mark tried to make an excuse, but Haechan wasn't giving up.

"Don't you at least have a crush on someone? You can tell me that, and I'll tell you mine!" A smile destroyed his sad expression, and a small giggle was heard from him.

Mark thought to himself for a bit. Telling someone their crush wasn't that bad, right? But, Haechan's really loud and he had the feeling that he could blurt it out at any second. He also didn't want to make the boy sad, though...

"Agh, I guess I have a crush..." he stretched his arms, looking away from the boy sitting in front of him.

"Oh man! Who is it? Are they in your year? What do they look like? Are they nice?" Donghyuck began bombarding Mark eith questions until the blonde pressed a finger to the boy's lips to quiet him down in the most polite way he could think of.

"You promise not to tell anyone?" His dark eyes became cold and the red head nodded.

Mark sighed and whispered,"Fine. Her name is Chou Tzuyu. She's in my year. That's all that I'll say." He looked down in embarrassment, taking his finger off Haechan's lips.

Donghyuck swallowed hard, looking at Mark's lowered head. "Ah, wow! Ok...I promise I won't tell. I don't even know her, actually..." his voice cracked. "I guess...I should tell you who I like, then." He chuckled, and Mark rose his head again.

"He's in the year above me-"

"He?" Mark cut off, his eyes going wide, and Haechan nodded, lifting a finger. "You learn something everyday, don't you? Do you have a problem with that?"

Mark immediately shook his head. "No, not at all. I don't mind who people crush on. You can keep going...sorry for interrupting." He said the last part quietly as he fiddled with his fingers.

Donghyuck chuckled again. He seemed way more serious than the other times Mark has been with him.

"The only thing I can say is that his name is Mark Lee."
