Donghyuck held onto Mark's plushie tighter as the blonde walked outside, not bothering to slip on a pair of shoes. He shut the door behind him and looked at the brunette. "What is it?" He muttered quietly, crosing his arms.

Haechan didn't know if he should tell Mark what he saw or not. What if Mark and Sicheng weren't even kissing? It was dark and the fireworks weren't that bright, right? It could've messed with Haechan's vision, right? What if Mark thinks that Haechan was snooping? What if he gets mad again? Why is Haechan even getting so worked up about this?

Because he still has feelings for Mark, even though he knows how mean the boy is.

"I-I..." Donghyuck's words were stuck in his throat. He didn't want to say anything to Mark, but at the same time, he did.

"I just...came by to drop this off." He mentally slapped himself as he held out the large plushie to the older boy. Mark furrowed his brows with confusion as he took the bear. "That's it?" The blonde asked, expecting more from Donghyuck, but the brunette just nodded.

Mark shrugged. "Okay, then. Good night, I guess." He placed one hand on the doorknob, holding his plushie close to him. He turned away from Haechan to open the door, but froze in place after the shorter boy opened his mouth.

"Actually..." he hesitated speaking and swallowed hard, clenching his fists. "I...I saw you and Sicheng kissing at the carnival!" He forced the words out of his mouth, and when he did, his felt that he could breathe again.

Mark's eyes widened and his breathing hitched. He felt as if he were going to vomit.

The blonde dropped the large bear and quickly turned to Haechan, walking so close to the boy that their chests were touching. "What?" He muttered harshly and Haechan stepped back, nearly walking backwards into a bush that sat near Mark's door.

Haechan's eyes saddened. "I didn't mean to see anything, I promise! I was looking for you and I guess I was doing it at the wrong time--I understand if you're angry at me...again." his voice was quiet and apologetic.

The word again hit Mark's heart like a bus. Again? How many times has Mark been mad at Haechan, exactly? All in just a short time of knowing each other...

Mark stayed silent for a while as he picked up his plushie, taking in a large breath of air. "I'm not mad at you...this time." He quietly said the last part. "It was my fault that happened, anyways." He tried smiling, but it came out crooked. "Just...don't tell anyone, okay?"

Haechan's anxiety slowly went away. Why was Mark being so...nice all of a sudden?

Donghyuck didn't think about it too much and just shook his head. "I promise I won't say anything this time." He smiled, and he saw that Mark's smile became more natural.

Before either of the boys could say anything else, the front door swung open, making Mark flinch and take his hand off the doorknob.

"What are you boys doing out here?" Mark's mom entered the conversation curiously. "It's dark and hot out here; come inside!" She insisted, walking out a bit and pushing both of the boys inside lightly.

"A-Actually, mom, Haechan probably has places to be-"

"No, it's fine! I'm not in a rush to go home, aha~" Haechan chuckled, slipping his shoes off and placing them neatly by the door.

Mark's mom shut the door and clapped her hands together. "Mark never invites any friends over besides Jaehyun, so this is a historic moment!" She said excitedly, making Mark's cheeks turn pink.

"Mom, it's not that big of a deal-"

Oh, but it was. The excited woman was calling Mark's dad and when he answered she began blabbering about how her son 'finally brought someone home other than Jae'.

Mark got so flustered that he grabbed Haechan's hand and dragged him away from his parent, leading him to his room. Haechan just covered his mouth with his free hand, trying to stop himself from laughing.

"Is...she always like that?" Haechan asked, uncovering his mouth. Mark let go of the brunette's small hand and closed the door to block out his mom's excited yells to her husband over the phone.

"No? She's so used to Jaehyun coming over that she justs treats him like another child of hers. I guess having someone knew in the house made her excited." The blonde shrugged, making his way to his bed and laying down. Haechan looked around the plain room awkwardly until he saw Mark patting the bed, signalling that Haechan could tak a seat. The younger boy's face lit up and he waddled to the bed, taking a seat at Mark's feet.

Mark smiled as well. Maybe Donghyuck...wasn't as annoying as he thought?
