Mark called his mom to pick him up after he told Haechan that he wanted to go home, which the younger boy pouted at first and said,"I was supposed to make you toughen up!" but then just let his boyfriend go home in the end.
So, here Mark was, laying on his bed playing Animal Crossing while thinking about everything Haechan had told him. The clear sky suddenly became dusted with grey clouds and rain began falling, making the atmosphere feel even more gloomy than it already was.
"It gets harder to face things and let things go." Donghyuck's voice rang through Mark's head as he pressed through the conversation his character was having with one of his villagers. They had asked him if he could find a lost item for them, and Mark immediately pressed okay. He pressed okay to everything a villager asked, even if he never ended up doing it.
"I'm even too soft in video games..." he sighed, then began moving his character around town.
"Mark!" Lucas called from the living room, and the brunette put down his 3DS, sitting up on his bed. "Haechan is here!"
Before Mark could even stand up Haechan was already in his room, jumping into his arms. Mark was suprised at the sudden hug, but he really needed it.
"School was boring without you there, Mark." Donghyuck whined, his words being muffled a bit as his face was snuggled into the crook of Mark's neck.
Mark softly smiled. "Didn't you talk to your other friends?"
Haechan let go of Mark and rolled onto his bed, grabbing the boy's video game. "Yeah, but it was still boring." He began messing with the game, but Mark didn't care.
The two sat in a silence that wasn't awkward, but Mark still felt like he should say something as there was so many things on his mind.
"Haechan, I like you." He suddenly spoke as he laid next to the younger boy.
"I know."
"No, but, I seriously do."
"I know."
"I know that you still get jealous when I try talking to Tzuyu, or when I was with Sicheng earlier today, because you still think I like them, right?"
He got no answer, just the sound of one of the villagers talking coming out of the gaming console.
"I didn't mean to turn this time into such a serious one but, I was thinking about everything you said earlier." Mark sat back up and moved to lean his back against the headboard of his bed. "I'm too soft and I hurt people a lot because I realised that being soft makes me vulnerable to catching feelings more easily." He took a large breath inwards after speaking, and Haechan turned his head to face him.
"I told you."
"But I'm not finished yet." He scratched the side of his head. "I feel like if we're going to be in a relationship...you have to have my complete trust, right?"
Haechan slowly nodded, his eyes meeting with Mark's.
"I don't want you to get worried whenever I hang out with someone because you might think I have a crush on them. I've already hurt you because of that; I don't want to repeat any mistakes."
"So...are you-"
"I'm saying that I want to focus on nothing but you, Haechan. That's what's wrong with me; I can never focus on what's most important and I distract myself with other things that just make everything harder. My nice personality doesn't help, either."
A pink blanket of blush covered Haechan's cheeks and he looked back down at the video game. He fiddled with the controls as Mark kept talking.
"So I want to change that; I want that to be my goal from now on. I don't want to hurt you anymore? I want to focus on you--my boyfriend, and not think of anyone else." For some reason, he felt tears beginning to build up, so he looked up at the ceiling to prevent anything from falling. "I'm sorry I'm like this." He choked out.
