"Jae, my man!" Jungkook left his spot from behind the counter and went to high five Jaehyun. Sicheng watched them awkwardly, since Jungkook had no idea who he was.
Jaehyun smiled, his nose crinkles showing as he did so. "Hey, Jungkook."
The two boys talked for a while, catching up on things that were going on in both of their lives. They talked about school, their homes, their friends, and even their love lives. Jungkook boasted about how him and his boyfriend Jimin are 'literally the cutest couple ever', which made Jae cringe.
Jungkook then noticed Sicheng holding onto Jaehyun’s hand rather tightly. "Who is he?" He asked, looking at the boy.
Sicheng bowed. "I'm Dong Sicheng. I am from China." He smiled, and Jae smiled back at him.
"He's my boyfriend." Jae also added, causing Jungkook's eyes to go wide.
"Boyfriend? Wow, what happened to Taeyong?"
"He never realised that I liked him, even though I literally spelled it out once. So, I just gave up."
"Yikes. At least this fella seems hella nice." Jungkook patted Sicheng's back, making the boy uncomfortable. The brunette then snapped his fingers, realising something. "Oh, yeah! Are you here for Mark? He's over there with his girlfriend...Tzuyu, was it?" He pointed to the table where Tzuyu and Mark were sitting. Mark didn't seem to notice them in the slightest, which was a good thing, since that gave Sicheng time to push Jaehyun out of the ice cream parlor.
He kept pushing Jaehyun down the sidwalk until Jae turned around, swatting Sicheng's arms away. "What are you doing!?" He asked with an irritated tone.
"Mark." Was all that he could say without panicking and speaking the most broken Korean anyone has ever heard.
Jae cocked an eyebrow. "What about him?"
Sicheng didn't want to tell him. He didn't want to tell Jung Jaehyun; his boyfriend, that he kissed his best friend. Would Jaehyun get mad? Should he just make up a lie? No, lying isn't something that Sicheng's good at, so his only choice was to tell the truth.
"He in there, so we can't inside...go.." he grabbed Jaehyun’s hand and tried pulling him farther away, but the brunette didn't budge.
"I asked why not? We should go join them instead of throwing a fit over seeing them." He pryed Sicheng's hand off of his, then turned around to face him, placing his hands on his shoulders. "...Are you jealous?" He spoke softly as he pursed his lips.
Sicheng shook his head. "N-No! I'm not...at all. We can't go...because..." he trailed off, and Jaehyun squeezed his shoulders.
Sicheng broke into a cold sweat.
"Mark and I...we..." he covered his face, lowering his head as well. "We kissed..."
It went silent with the exception of the few cars passing by.
"It wasn't...recent! I swear...!" He uncovered his face, grabbing his boyfriend's hands. Jaehyun just stood, frozen like a statue with no expression on his face. His face was a hard line. "It was at carnival, and I'm sure neither knew what we was doing." He tried to brush things off with a chuckle. "...It was an accident."
"Then...why don't you want Mark to see us together?" Jae finally spoke, and Sicheng froze again. He knew that Mark had feelings for him, just from the looks in his eyes whenever they saw each other. What was he supposed to tell Jae? The real reason is that Sicheng is afraid of Mark getting jealous, but he couldn't possibly tell Jae that.
This is why Sicheng doesn't lie.
Jaehyun was getting impatient. He sighed, removing his hands from Sicheng's shoulders. "Let's just go somewhere else, then. I don't want to make you upset." He opened his arms, welcoming Sicheng in for a hug which he gladly took.
While they hugged, they both heard Tzuyu's familiar voice exit the ice cream parlor, but she sounded irritated. They were too far away to comprehend what she was saying; they just knew that she was angry. Sicheng moved his head to the side to see what was going on, and he saw Mark, standing at the doorway of the shop, his eyes locked on Jaehyun and Sicheng rather than the girl who just stormed off.
Sicheng's heart dropped. His eyes widened and he pushed Jaehyun away, making the boy stumble backwards. Jaehyun was about to ask why he pushed him, but Mark was already jogging towards them.
"Sicheng? Jae?" Mark sounded extremely confused. "Why were you...hugging like that?"
Jaehyun smiled. "Ah, I was gonna tell you this sooner, but..." he snaked an arm around Sicheng's waist, pulling him closer to his side.
"Sicheng and I are dating."
