Haechan was more than happy that Mark was texting him, although he had no reason why he was doing it. As their conversation progressed; the two of them talking about random topics such as Haechan's homework and Mark's dream dog, the more Donghyuck wondered why Mark was talking to him after all the bad things he's done to the boy.
He also realised that he was still crushing on the boy. He kept telling himself,'you don't like him, Haechan; he's been a jerk to you' over and over again, but his mind didn't listen. The more they talked, the more his feelings came back. He saw that Mark was indeed a very nice and sweet person, as some of his texts were very heartwarming.

Yet, Haechan kept texting the boy. He would put his phone down every now and then to answer a question or two, but whenever his phone would vibrate, he would rush to grab his phone.
He was happy, and Mark was, too.
Mark didn't have homework like Haechan did, and figured that Haechan wasn't going to put his phone down any time soon as he was replying just a few seconds every time Mark pressed send. So, he helped Haechan with his work, and the two were incredibly joyful.
Mark also realised that Donghyuck wasn't as 'annoying' as he thought. Well, he thought the way he texted was sort of obnoxious as he overused 'XD' and the smiling emojis, but he could deal with it. What he meant was that he opened his eyes fully to see a Haechan who was really nice and just wanted someone to talk about their day with. It seemed as if the friends he already had weren't enough, since as the two kept talking, the longer his texts got.
While talking to him, he completely forgot about what Tzuyu was going to say the next day or the problem going on between him, Sicheng, and Jae.
He also didn't realise that his heart rate would speed up whenever a new message would appear on his screen, or how his cheeks went pink.
That is, until his older brother opened the door.
"What are you still doing awake?" He questioned him, placing a sassy hand on his hip.
Mark quickly turned off his phone and slid it under his pillow, but not fast enough as his brother rose a curious eyebrow. "Were you texting someone?"
The boy shook his head repeatedly, but his brother didn't fall for it as he paced over and jumped on Mark's bed, snatching the phone from under his younger brother's pillow.
"Lucas, stop!" Mark whined to his brother, but the elder boy didn't pay attention as he held the phone away from Mark's reach. He turned it on, revealing a notification with part of Haechan's message being shown underneath.
The natural black haired boy read the part of the message and turned to his little brother. "Who is 'Channie'?? Is she a girlfriend?" He asked Mark, laughing a bit at the end.
Mark's cheeks turned an even darker shade of pink, and he was glad that the room was only dimly lit. "N-No! Channie's a boy, Lucas." He muttered. He stole the phone from Lucas and held it close to his chest.
Lucas rose his brows, his eyes widening. "Ooo, is it a boyfriend?" He teased, and Mark scrunched up his nose. "No." He retorted with a dark tone in his voice, and the black haired male held up his hands in defense, then laughed and trapped his little brother in a headlock, messing up his hair. "You know I'm just playing with you, Mark."
Mark awkwardly chuckled as his brother told him to go to bed and walked out of the dimly lit room, shutting the door as he left.
When he was sure that his brother was gone, he turned his phone on again and replied to Haechan.
