Lyra turned her phone off and dropped it in her purse. Ashlie asked if Lyra felt like hearing what happened after she left last night. Lyra stared at Ashlie for a few moments then sighed. Ashlie spewed last night's drama, like it was burning her insides to hold it in.
Lyra listened as Ashlie continued talking all the way to the plane.
"Ly?"
"Hmm?" Lyra looked at Ashlie.
"Are you going to be okay? I know this whole situation is messed up but I think he really cares about you."
"I will be fine. It's not like he broke my heart, per say. He believes his brother and..."
"And Laurent needs to see the lies for himself." Ashlie finished Lyra's sentence.~~~
Laurent woke up early the next morning. He cleaned himself up and dressed. He ask Larry what he want for breakfast as he packed. Larry replied he didn't care.
Laurent waited for Larry to get ready so they could go eat together.
"Larry, I know you all my life. Tell me the truth. Do you want Lyra for youself?"
"No! I no think she good for you."
"Okay, why?" Laurent asked.
"She have bad temper. She violent." Larry replied as they walked from the elevator.
"Larry, what really reason?" Laurent walked into the elevator but Larry had stopped and started patting his pockets.
"What you lose?" Laurent asked.
"I left my phone, wait a minute." Larry said turning away. Laurent followed him back to the room to search."You know where you leave it?"
"Yes, I charge it and..." Larry lifted the USB cable he had attached to his phone. "It no here."
"You never lose you phone, you sure you no have it?" Laurent asked as he called his number and they listened for his ringtone.
"Maybe it on silent?" Laurent asked then searched the floor and under the furniture for Larry's phone. Larry searched his belongings but neither found his phone.Larry got upset telling Laurent about all the jobs he had set up and put in his phone. Laurent's stomach growled.
"Maybe we eat first then use where my phone app for find it after? It here, we no leave without it." He suggested and Larry slowly nodded looking like he would cry. Laurent patted his shoulder then walked out first. Larry put his phone in Laurent's bag to find later.

Lyra slept most of the flight back to Europe, in the taxi and the rest of the night when she got home. The next day she started the task of completing as many projects as she could. She planned to set up lots of meetings and enough trips to keep her busy for the next six months.
She was halfway through her first week when her supervisor, Eliot, decided to unexpectedly attend one of her meetings. He sat silently by the door as she went over the projections and budget. She had almost forgotten he was there until he asked questions about the time table for each project. She answered his questions before dismissing the meeting.
She thanked everyone for their hard work as they started to leave. He smiled at her while everyone else walked out.
"I am exceedingly impressed by your progress and the way you saved that project recently. So please don't take what I'm about to say as a reflection on your performance. You have to leave now." He said.
"Are you firing me?" Lyra asked still working.
"No, of course not. Our company has a mandatory rest policy per number of hours worked and you're accruing time at an alarming rate. You need to take 1465 more hours." He replied.
"With all do respect, Eliot. That number is ridiculous. Besides, I am far too busy to take that kind of time off right now." Lyra said finally looking at him.
"This is not up for debate, Lyra. You are officially on leave for two months starting now." He said turning to leave.
"Eliot, my projects aren't going to wait for two months!"
"You are far enough ahead of schedule it will be easy for your assistants to handle the work and they will reschedule any meetings until your return." He replied.
"Eliot." Lyra plead but he held up his hand.
"Don't make me call security. Now go, enjoy your leave." He pointed out of her office.
