After Lyra got back to the house in Queens, she told Candy she was going to take a nap and locked herself in the room. She sat on her plush bean chair and leaned her head back.

This will be really simple. I will call Laurent and tell him that he's going to be a father.
And then what? If, he come running back to be a father. You will never know if he came back for you or because you are carrying his child. Is this how you want to try to get him back? By trapping him?

It doesn't matters right? Lyra grab her pregnancy book and rolled to her side in an attempt to read but fell asleep.

That night after dinner, Lyra picked up her phone to call Laurent, she found his name then started to touch the icon to call but dropped the phone. She balled her hands into fists as tears rolled down her cheeks. She couldn't do it. She wanted him to come back because he wanted her.
Okay you big baby, text him.
She typed two words, I'm pregnant, then stopped.
You were raised better than that. You don't deliver this sort of news by text. Decide on a place to meet and text him to meet you there or call and tell him you're pregnant but stop behaving like a coward.
Lyra sent a text asking Laurent if he would meet her at Atlas Park outside the Regal Cinema tomorrow around noon then anxiously waited for him to respond.

Laurent was surprised that Lyra wanted to meet with him. He smiled after telling her he would be there. She asked him to text her when he arrived.
The next morning he woke up nervous. He didn’t know what she wanted to say but he decided he wanted answers to his questions. He mentally ran through his lists of questions and tried to take his time getting ready but he finished in twenty minutes.
He arrived at the mall around noon and easily located the movie theater where they were supposed to meet.
