Lyra looked around as she walked downstairs. It was something she had done numerous times over the years. The house hadn't changed much over the years, there were a few new pictures. Some of the furniture had been replaced or moved around but overall, it was the same as always.
She felt out off. Somehow, somewhere, she had lost something, shifted her center, or her auras or something.
She opened the door that lead to the basement and immediately noticed it had been remodeled. The training area was separated from the rest of the basement by a new wall and door.
She stepped inside removing her slippers then walked to the center of the matted floor. She slowly sank to her knees, placing her hands on her thighs and closing her eyes.
She tried to calm her mind and focused on her breathing. She attempted to find some semblance of peace within her mind but; her thoughts were too hostile, degrading, and self-loathing. In short, not conducive to finding the path. After a while she struggled find something to focus on that didn't make her feel like crying.
I have friends that love me and ... What? Surely that wasn't all. Yesterday I had love, plans for a future and now?
She sat on her bottom, pulled her thighs to her chest, wrapped her arms around her shins and put her head on her knees. She felt mentally tired. She spent a year fighting for her relationship with Laurent, a year! Only now did she realize she neglected to nurture the relationship she has with herself, her self worth.
She heard light footsteps walking across the mat but didn't need to look up to know Sin was standing over her.
“I know what you are trying to do but you need to focus on strengthening your body then your mind.” Sin whispered. “You will start be able to see things clearer as you relax.” Sin smiled offering her hand to help Lyra up.

The next day Lyra woke up pissed off and her body ached. She took a hot shower, drank some chamomile tea and stretched. By her calculations her monthly gift wasn't due for a few weeks but maybe it was coming early.
Oh goodie! Lyra rolled her eyes.
Candy decided to be Lyra’s shadow for the day while Sin and Suga ran errands. A tedious task since Lyra was a raging bitch the whole time. However, Candy seemed to be used to dealing with people's bad moods and didn't let it bother her.
When Jam finally brought the equipment for Lyra to use for work, she nearly ripped his head off for taking so long.
“Want to bake brownies?” Candy cheerfully interrupted Lyra’s tirade while Jam ran for cover.
“Of all the things in that swirling vortex you call a brain,” Lyra made air quotes, “Want to bake brownies?” She said mockingly, “is what you let fall out of your mouth?”
