“Too bad you didn't listen.” Lyra pushed Christopher away from her.

Lyra laughed at her now wide eyed father, “Want to hear something funny? The marriage license that you filed for Christopher and myself is invalid. It didn't take five minutes to show the signature by my name wasn't written by me.” She laughter harder. “The contract you made with this person is not only invalid it's also illegal.” She held her stomach laughing hysterically. “You want to know the funniest thing,” She gasped for air, still laughing, “you admitted to a room full of people... you admitted to extortion, a federal crime and… and...” She suddenly stopped laughing. “There was something else. What was it?” Lyra furrowed her brow. “I forgot.”

“FBI!” Several voices yelled as Lyra slowly stepped back.

“Raymond and Marie Via, you are both under arrest for extortion, forging legal documents, crimes against human rights, assault and battery, collusion, also your daughter has been granted a restraining order against the both of you. Consider yourself served.” An agent announced while her parents were handcuffed.
“No that wasn't it. How could I forget?” Lyra looked as if she may cry.
“Christopher Hugh you are under arrest for forgery, crimes against human rights, collusion and violating a protective order, which violates your probation.” A different officer said while he handcuffed Christopher.

Lyra finally smiled as several guests suddenly started to whispering and watching with rapt attention while Christopher and her parents being arrested.

“I remember I have an announcement! Lève-toi, mon amour!” Lyra giggled excitedly when Laurent stood up. She waved him forward while her parents and Christopher were lead away. “I want to introduce everyone to the man in my life and takes care of my heart.”

Laurent looked curiously at Lyra as he strolled up to her. He smiled and gave a small nod but Lyra seemed a little disoriented, even a little clumsy with her words.

"It makes me happy the people who love me have been so welcoming of this handsome gentleman. For those of you who have yet to have the pleasure, this is Laurent Bourgeois, my fiancé." Lyra giggled placing her hand with the engagement ring on Laurent's chest for the audience to see.

Soon they were temporarily blinded by the flashing lights. Lyra wrapped an arm around Laurent’s waist and held on tightly. She felt off balance and tired. She leaned her head against his chest as people came to congratulate them to keep herself steady. Ashlie quickly took the microphone.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, if you don't mind, I would like to welcome to Laurent and Lyra’s engagement party!” Ashlie announced.

“You okay?” Laurent asked and she smiled as she told him she was.
“You okay?” Lyra asked as they stepped from the spotlight.
“I worry about you.” Laurent whispered to her.
“Me?” Lyra asked in surprise.

He nodded as Lyra squeezed her arms around his waist.

“I will be fine. Better when we can get out of here.” Lyra smiled at him then pulled him down to kiss his cheek.

Laurent smiled as Larry approached them, as the music changed and a few of Lyra's friends started dancing. Lyra let Laurent and Larry do what they do and made her way back to her seat.

Lyra smiled seeing Laurent dance with Larry. She was happy seeing him look more relaxed. However, Lyra had a high pitch humming in her ears and fluctuated between feeling like she was going to vomit and feeling faint. She figured it was from being hit by her father, her body still overloaded with stress and of course she was still regaining her strength from fighting her stomach flu.

Lyra told her Nonna she was feeling nauseous. Catarina brought her some ginger ale and crackers. Lyra ate and sipped the ginger ale as she watched her fiancé and Larry. Ashlie hugged Lyra around her neck as she sat down beside her.
