Lyra believes she has a reasonable handle on her life. Or so she thought, until her life was interrupted by a charismatic French dancer. She faces competition from other women, interference from her family, and a man from a past relationship that wa...
Larry woke up to Laurent singing in the shower. He laughed getting out of the bed, ordered breakfast for them and waited for his brother to come out.
“Morning,” Laurent smiled at Larry as he emerged from the bathroom followed by a cloud of steam. “You happy today.” He replied putting the food on the table. “I feel good. Want to go to shopping after we eat?” Laurent asked sitting down. “Okay.” Larry was happy seeing Laurent in a good mood.

Laurent walked through the crowd with a purpose. He had decided it was time to make one more of his dreams come true.
Larry told Laurent he wanted to buy a new necklace and walked into the jewelry store. Laurent smiled and followed him.
“How may I help you?” The young lady behind the counter asked as he approached. “I want to see that.” He pointed at the display case.

Lyra was putting her groceries away when her phone suddenly tried to jump off the counter. She immediately thought something had gone wrong with one of her projects. She snatched the phone up as messages poured in. She had messages from Ashlie, Gabby, and several missed calls from Keisha and Ashlie.
She read Gabby's first. He wanted permission to make Christopher disappear. She laughed as she responded to ask Queen.
She read Ashlie's messages next and immediately regretted telling Gabby to ask Queen. Apparently, Christopher had decided to announce, at a recent charity event, Lyra had finally agreed to marry him at her parents’ anniversary celebration.
With the recent drama in her life, Lyra had decided not to attend this year. Every year her parents used the event as an excuse to show off their "beautiful daughter" to current and potential business associates. Or as her mother referred to them potential husbands for her overly opinionated, overweight daughter. Lyra wasn't in the mood to smile politely while being ogled like the last fat free snack at a weigh watchers meeting.
Ashlie told her the theme was a masquerade ball and she was the party planner, if, Lyra needed her to do something.
Lyra sat on her couch and pinched her nose. The whole thing was so preposterous, it made perfect sense. Conversely the solution would have to be equally as preposterous. Lyra yelled profanities as tears started running down her face.
A month later, Lyra was in the middle of planning Christopher's disappearance when Laurent FaceTime her. He asked if she wanted to meet him for dinner. She asked could they do it another time, she wasn’t in the mood to go out. He pouted and pleaded, but she wouldn't give in. Laurent asked if she felt like company and he could bring the dinner to her. She smiled and gave him her address.

Lyra was clearing part of her dining room table when Ashlie called.
"Your parents asked me for your address." Ashlie greeted. "But you never got my new address." Lyra replied. "And this is why." Ashlie laughed and Lyra smiled. "Let me know when they leave, okay?" Lyra asked. Ashlie agreed and hung up.
