Hi there! I'm really running out of topics to speak about, please help me out.

Today, I'm going to speak about what's it like to live in South Africa.

Firstly, South africa is that small country at the bottom of Africa (duh) that had another country in it. Yep, South Africa surrounds Swaziland. Weird, right?

That small white dot is Swaziland

Life in South Africa is definitely special. You see people of different races, origins, religions and cultures living and working together everyday. This is why South Africa is called the rainbow nation since Nelson Mandela achieved freedom in this country.

Some famous South Africans are: Charlize Theron, Wayde van Niekerk and Trevor Noah.

South Africa has it's own soccer team (Bafana-Bafana), cricket team (The Proteas) and it's own rugby team (The Springbok (bokke)).

It's national fish is the Galjoen, national tree is the yellow wood, national animal is the springbok and national flower is the Protea.

It is actually a civilized place and is an emerging third world country.

Our current president (Jacob Zuma) is funny. (Google him trying to pronounce a long number) 😁.

South Africa has it's own languages and it's own slang. Afrikaans is a indigenous to South Africa and is a mux between English, Dutch, Zulu, Xhosa and a few other languages.

Some slang words:

Eish - this is used to exclaim something,
Example: Eish! I forgot to do my homework.
It us also used to show emotion,
Example: Did you see Tshabalala's (a soccer player) goal the other day? Rish! It was lekker!

Lekker - originally means 'tasty' in Afrikaans, but is also used to show that something is nice or good. It can also be used as a substitute for delicious, beautiful or gorgeous.

Braai - cooking over an open fire.
Called a barbeque by Americans.
The best thing ever! Found at functions or parties.

Yoh - used to show shock or excitement.
Example: Yoh! That was a long journey.

Tsotsi - thief or criminal

Well, that's it for this chapter. Let me know it there's anything else you want to know about my country. :)
