Sapphire slowly broke the kiss that left her almost intoxicated with desire. As she stumbled a little, she looked up at Ruby, who was only a few inches taller, but still too tall for the smaller girl to look at without raising her head.
"Are we...a thing now?"
Ruby blinked, unsure of the answer.
"Do you want to be a thing? I'd love nothing more than to be with you, but...is that what you want?"
Sapphire smiled a little.
"Yes."
They slowly embraced each other in a soft hug, not too crushing, but also not too bland. They were in love with this feeling.
"So should I call you my girlfriend now?" Asked Ruby.
"Only if I get to call you mine." Sapphire replied.
After a slew of nicknames and chastise kissing, the two found themselves awake at 2:00 am again.
Ruby yawned as she kissed Sapphire's cheek. They were laying in bed now, cuddled up and facing each other. As she planted the soft kiss on her cheek, Sapphire giggled softly.
"I'm in love with your laugh." Said the taller of the two. "I'm going to call you my..my Laughy Sapphy."
Sapphire found herself in a mess of giggles at the name.
"I love it."
They smiled at each other, yawning and holding onto one another. Even though it was getting warmer, the climate was still cold. They clung onto each other for warmth, Sapphire being the one who was the coldest. They ended up falling asleep around 4:00 am, curled up against one another, Sapphire sleeping on Ruby's chest, and Ruby holding her Laughy Sapphy as if she would never have the chance to hold her ever again for the rest of her life.
Neither let go of the other the entire night.
