Emerald's appearance was very similar to Sapphire's, the only difference being that she was a few inches taller; about Ruby's height. They had the same skin tone, the same golden hair, and the same blue eyes, Emerald having both and Sapphire only having one. This made Sapphire's gears grind, seeing that the girl who looked so similar to herself could possibly get in the way of her and Ruby. She had no reason to feel this way, yet something told her that she should fear it. Tonight was the night that those fears came true.

Ruby and Sapphire arrived together to the party, holding hands and being as loving towards one another as always. Emerald hated this. She watched the two dancing from a distance, blushing and all over each other. She hated them so much, specifically Sapphire.'What does she have that I don't?'
Emerald chugged down a cup of whatever alcoholic drink she found in the kitchen. She glared at the smiling blonde, wanting to throw her beverage at her then and there. She wanted Ruby to see that she was even better than the little skank she called her girlfriend.
'I can satisfy Ruby better that Sapphire ever can.'
She was in the middle of her hatred-session when Sapphire left Ruby to go to the restroom. This was her chance.
She walked over to Ruby, starting a conversation. It wasn't anything special, just the how-are-you and how-is-life kinds of talk. Either way, she felt her heart flutter when she was around Ruby.'I think I love you..'
Emerald left once Sapphire came back, angered by how she could so easily make Ruby ignore her existence. She gulped down more alcohol as she sat in the corner, moping and watching Ruby dance with the girl that looked so much like her.
Ruby was now the one to leave Sapphire to go to the restroom. This is it, Emerald thought, this is my chance. In a drunken state, Emerald went to Ruby and began to speak to her. She got a little too touchy with Ruby, stroking her cheek and whispering dirty things in her ear. Then she crashed her lips onto Ruby's making sure to hold on to the girl so she wouldn't leave. And, of course, Sapphire showed up at the wrong time, seeing this at an angle that made it seem as if Ruby was pulling her closer rather than pushing her away.
Once Ruby finally pushed her off, all she could see was Sapphire run out of the house, a single side of her face dripping with tears. She chuckled to herself, not noticing that Ruby had left.'She's mine, Sapphire, so fuck off.'
